If you talk to people about depression can you become depressed? JA I am always on and always hoping that you come on but, honey I am not on at 12 in the morning.. I usually am sleeping except once in a while on the weekends.. I would love to talk to you and maybe you won't be so depressed but, the timing is off..

Yea, i guess it is.. I get on at 3:00 here and then get back on at 6:00 or sometimes even 9:00 here... It depends on if I really want to go on the internet or not.. I think being alone is depressing..

I love being alone. It's where I find peace. A lot of the time people annoy the heck out of me, so I just go down to the barn and sit alone with my animals (though then I'm not really alone cuz I have my animals)

I don't like being alone, but then it depends...I'm ALL alone right now. No ones home and no ones on ESPS....nobody calls, but then they can't anyway because I'm on the internet with stupid dial-up! lolol. Somehow...I'm not depressed right now. I'm in no mood...is that even possible??
Oh look! It's my Precioussss! I'm not completely alone after all.

I love being alone also.. I think it is because I am very independent and once someone comes into the room or something I get very depressed..

i don't really think depressed is the right word for that situation. depression implies long-lasting morbidity...does it not? it is a deeper thing than sadness at an event you will forget in time.

I don't think depression always implies that it's long lasting, nor do I think one who is depressed is necessarily morbid. Morbid to me implies death or disease. I think there are definitely certain levels of depression, but I think most depression is caused by situations and environments, not so much by a psychological disease. Now, mind you, I do believe there are those who are mentally ill with depression. It is something these people cannot help due to an imbalance in hormones, something wrong in the mind, etc. However, I believe that a good part of depression is just deeper sadness and it can happen to anyone.
I think depression can be summed up as a feeling of hopelessness. Everyone feels hopeless at one point or another, therefore everyone has been depressed at some time or another. Normally, a person will naturally come out of depression due to new situations, however, when a person does not come out of depression naturally, there's more of a problem. At this beginning stage I believe a person can still bring themselves out of depression, without the aid of a professional, but when people deny, deny, deny the fact that they are depressed, the situation only becomes worse.
I know I go into short periods where everything seems hopeless. Everybody does. It could be as simple as a bad day, but bad days disappear quickly when something else happens.

Yeah, hopelessness explains it nicely. How awkwardly irritating, when your well-being depends on day-to-day events...
