Satire: creative criticism. I'm actually getting pretty good at it, now. But I only have three chapters of the book left. Heh...

I;ve heard of her...what's she written? Summer reading is all morbid books for us this year, and they've got The DaVinci Code for the seniors, which irritated me.

Yea, I have never heard of the books that they want us to read before... I am gonna have to check them all out... Usually if I don't know what it is I just look for a title that is catchy..

Should be entertaining...

I just finished MiB: The Green Saliva Blues. This was my second time reading it. I enjoyed it a lot the second time.
Now I am reading A Wrinkle in Time. I had nothing better to read, so I picked that.
Summer reading is not bad at all this year. No essays. At all. That was the worst part for me and now all I have to do is read. I really don't even have to read too much either, because I have read most of the books on that list. All I have to do is refresh my memory. I am over joyed at this year's summer reading, even if the books are not so good.

I liked Wrinkle in Time. It's short, so it can be read quick, and the style is pretty good. It's a mix of SF and something unique.

We don't get summer reading here, or even homework over the summer because all our teachers change for the next year. But books to read? I dunno, I can't seem to focus on anything at the moment. The Prowler series is good, but I'm not sure that it's one to read too often. LotR is, of course, awsome but I prefer Unfinished Tales because it leaves more to the imagination. Um, The Andromeda Strain is cool too. There are probably others but I can't remember them right now. Huh, I blame all the school textbooks that I've been reading instead of novels recently. I DO NOT recommend reading such things as the GCSE OCR Physics Textbook, it is sooooo dull!

Heh. Yeah, his work is great. I love Timeline most of all - I 'borrowed' my dad's copy about two years ago and have since read it enough times for the covers to fall off and be selotaped back on six or seven times. It's hidden in my room so he doesn't find it now. I should probably buy him a new copy...

lol, I liked Timeline, Jurassic Park, and Sphere. Don't remember what happens at the end of sphere though...something a little disappointing...Jurassic Park was quite different in the book. It was a mad good movie though.

I was annoyed by Jurassic Park. All the "And He said, and she said". Yech.
I'm reading a book called 'People of the River', by W. Michael Gear and Kathleen O'Neal Gear. It's a little weird, but good anyway.

Yes! All of them, in fact. Her new Sci-Fi books are really good (The Giver, Gathering Blue, The Messenger...). Little philosophical, 'specially "The Giver."
Yeah, I've been reading a lot of Madeleine L'Engle's stuff lately too... they're okay. I am not quite sure how they all fit together, though, and I know they do! Toward the latter part of the original four she gets a little wierd with the way she mixes Bible and fantasy. I didn't appreciate that.
It's not fantasy, but I just finished "Milkweed" by Jerry Spinelli. It was SO good! I love to read about WWII, and especially about the children... and this book was very clean. Which was nice.
BTW, has anyone read any of Sherwood Smith's stuff? I hear it's pretty good...
