Okay, forgive me for this triple post triple but no one has posted on this thread for a while. I have distressing news that I hope is an Apil Fools joke by Game Stop stores.

THEY DID IT AGAIN!!!!
That's right. They postponed Twilight Princess yet again. This time to September.
If this sounds wrong, feel free to verify and correct me. I WANT to be wrong.

Aw no, I saw this too....*grumbles* I think they're trying to kill all the hype. Not very good marketing strategy, dearest Nintendo...

They're just postponing it to make it all the better :-)
Seriously though, Sometimes things just don't get done in time. The last thing they want to do is send out a game that will be faulty. Even though the game may be completed, they have to work out all the bugs before they can put it on shelves.

That is true. However I like my games to come with an occasional Glitch or bug that works in my favor evey once in a while. But all we can do is mail letters of complaint. *sighs*

Letters of complaint that we're getting no glitches? Lol! Yeah Silv I see that point. I just don't get why they couldn't forsee they were gonna have a lot more to do when the first date was announced.

I can never foresee how long it will "really" take to write my term papers. I always plan things without adding in time for procrastinatioin...because inevitably, THAT is what happens.
However, if someone decides to postpone the release date of POTC2, there WILL be pain.

Alas, no April Fools. But that date is incorrect as well...let me explain. Nintendo, or rather, the Zelda team at EAD, has been working on this game for about...what, three years now? That's longer than OoT. Just take that in for a seond... How long does OoT say it will take to beat? Around 40 hours. They also switched formats from a CD game to Game Pack, in developent of the game. They OFFICIALLY delayed OoT three times. Ok, to TP: Twilight Princess is working off an EXISTING engine, in short, they have already had much of the initial work done for them (TWW). They never switched the format (yet). They boat at least 70-100 hours of gameplay. That is absoutely INSANE. Most games, aside from RPGs, don't exceed 40 hours. Number of OFFICIAL delays: one. (This delay to Fall is not a delay at all really. The only Official delay said not till AFTER April.) Let me put it this way: Twilight Princess is no longer a game. It's more of a concrete idea. A work of art would probably be the best way to explain it. These people making it are so into the excessive detailing of the game that they probably just can't stop. That's not how it works in the game world. You have a date, you do what you can with the time you have (24 hour, 7 day a week schedules are not uncommon). And when release rolls around, you ship. End of story. With TP, they're giving the team as much time as they want. For a number of reasons. One, and most importantly, to make this the game to end all games. They're motto (practically) is: "We can't loose to Ocarina." (See NP's newest issue.) Secondly: The Wolf Link was way too buggy for a November, or even April release. Third: Put TP in a Revolution, and use the Rev controller. (Oh! Have any of you seen the Rev controller? go to www.revolution.ign.com and just look around. You'll probably find it.) I don't know if that contributed to the delay. Halo 2 had three years of development, only 15 weeks of which were spent actually making the game. Because of their schedule, they were required to cut out a lot of really cool ideas that they had planned. They said, at the end of dev, that the only thing Halo 2 needed or that they wished it had was "more time." After TWW came out, in which Nintendo had to cut two whole temples because of time restrictions, Anouma said they were NOT going to do that again. The fans rejoiced. Now, Nintendo delays TP to AT LEAST April. The fans curse Nintendo. How hypocritical is THAT? So yeah, TP isn't comming out anytime soon. The current status is: No sooner than April, no later than Fall (which goes till December, I believe). But wait it out. I'll bet when it releases, it'll be awesome. If it isn't, then Nintendo will have a lot to make up for. If they can ever make up for it...If TP doesn't get a 10 from IGN, it probably can be counted as a failure. (Ok, maybe because of the time in which it releases, it can suffice with a 9.9, but no less).

Heh, I see your point MFB. I guess some of us just take video game making for granted(i.e. me and all who curse Nintendo). Thank you for correcting me.

I am not shocked at the delay because they will need a game to come out with the Rev. that will make people want to buy it its a marketing trick thingy. Remember the longer we have to wait the longer they have to get the bugs out of it.

No. The Nintendo Revolution was never given a name. It was called that because Iwata (whatever his last name was) said it would be a revolution in gaming. Why it is offically called the Wii is a bit too complicated for me to explain in a post. Srry.

Actually i'm going to paraphrase why it's called Wii. (I think therefor, I think slowly)
The two lowercase "i"s represent both the controlers and the players.
Goto nintendo.com for an animation on the name and info on it.
Sorry I can't be more helpful.

Wiiiiiiiiiiiii! I love that name! Nintendo is a GENIOUS! HA! Still can't spell "genius." Yes! Two versions, one for the ol' cube and one fore the Wiiiiiiiiiii! But the Wii one has widescreen, progressive scan, and controller features, which makes it the obvious choice for me. Did I fail to mention here that I have an HDTV now? I it. 32" of LCD high-quality goodness. Oh, and the Wii and Zelda will be out by November. its a launch title. And if its not out by then, then even I will be really TOed.

Sigh... you have way too much spending money.
Our TV's color system thingy went splut, now we have to use an old nobby turn TV. But it does have color.
how much do you think the Wii and the Zelda game will cost together? And Can I get the Wii version of TT with the resevation I have put down for the game?
