Well, it was asked of my by Cy and KT to create a thread where Zelda could be discussed and understood.
Exactly what they wanted, I am uncertain of. It's hard to dechipher their speach at times. ;D But that's one of the things I like about them. ;D But here is what this is all about:
If you have a question involving Zelda, I will answer as prompty as I can. Need to know why Navi left at the end of OoT? Done. The brief story of any game? Ok. Do ya want the exact quote that Darunia says after getting the Fire Medallion? No problem. Need to know WHAT thhe Fire Medalion is? Can do. A heart piece you can't find? I can tell ya. I can answer any question that you put before me. And if I can't, then there probably is no answer. ;D I hope this is what you wanted, Cy and KT.
To begin off, let me just say that The Legend of Zelda is a video game series. Currently, there are 11 games, one side game, remakes of all kinds, and two games in development. It is widely considered the greatest game series of all time, OoT being claimed the "Game of all time" by various sources. It has won various awards from the Interactive Sciences Acadamy, and ranks high in all rating lists. It is one of the only games ever to get perfect 10's from many game sites. The story is epic; the game play is perfect; the control was innovative in it's time; the music is awesome; and it is one of the most influential games of all time. Now, gimmie any questions ya got! ;D

it may be the game of all humanly known time, but we still await the day when the species of the contunuum unite and vote the Game of All the Time Continuum...anyway, Q: can you give me a rundown of all the races of OoT? Kokiri, Zoras, Gorons, Dear Departed Dudes in Pink Dresses?

Ok, here's the main races from most of the games. I must further ask if you wish for enemies, cause I was gonna add them, but decided it would be a long post and maybe some of it would just be pointless. This is a much shorter version than what I could have wrote, but it is an effective brief rundown of all the races from OoT. TWW has completely different races, so I excluded them for confusion's sake. Anyway:
Hylian; plural is Hylians. Pronounced High-lee-ann. They are the major race of Hyrule, and after the fall of the Hylia, took on the task of protecting the Triforce and the Golden Land. The King of Hyrule is a Hylian, and so is his daughter, Princess Zelda. Link is a Hylian as well, although in OoT he does not know that until later in the game.
Hylia; plural is Hylia. Pronounced High-lee-ah. They never appear in any Zelda game, only being named once in ALttP. They are the chosen race of the "gods," being the most magical of all humanoids. They were killed off, however, but their blood still rests in many being of Hyrule. The Hero was prophesized to have this blood in ALttP.
Kokiri; plural is Kokiri. Pronounced Co-key-ree. The Kokiri appear in their humanoid form only in OoT. They are the fairy children, watched over by the Great Deku Tree until his passing. They reside in the forest of eastern Hyrule. The Kokiri do not age past the age of 10. They remain that age for the rest of their life, with their guardian fairies to protect and watch them. Link lived amongst the Kokiri until the Great Deku Tree sent him on his long quest.
Gerudo; plural is Gerudo. Pronounced Jer-oo-dough. The thieves of the deserts in the western lands of Hyrule. They are a race of all females, one male being born every 100 years, and he becomes their leader. They are known for their sinister nature, being thieves, but besides this, they bring forth evil hearts. Ganondorf, a.k.a., Ganon is of this race.
Shiekah; plural is Shiekah Pronounced She-kah. The secret race of the shadows, sworn to protect the Royal Family of Hyrule. They are few and almost extinct. Impa is one of the only real Shiekah left in all Hyrule.
Goron; plural is Gorons. Pronounced Gore-on. The people of the mountain, they live in the northern mountain ranges of Hyrule. They resemble their food: rocks. They thrive off the ones from Dodongo’s Cavern, and almost died of starvation when Ganondorf blocked its entrance. Then Link came and saved them, destroying the barrier and liberating the Cavern of its monstrous inhabitants. They are a peaceful people, enjoying rolling and eating rocks. They protected the Spiritual Stone of Fire before giving it to Link.
Zora; plural is Zoras. Pronounced Zore-ah. The fish humanoids of the water, their abode is in the north-eastern waters, though they travel the rivers all over the land. They are said to have evolved from fish in the blessed waters of Zora’s Fountain. They are a prideful people, not taking too often to strangers. Yet they are graceful creatures. Princess Ruto of the Zoras gifted Link her “most precious possession” when he braved the belly of the great Jabu-Jabu to save her. That possession was the third Spiritual Stone, the Zora’s Sapphire.

OOH! YAY! A Zelda thread! WOOHOO! Ok I got a question. Why doesn't Link talk? Why are Zoras and Gorons cannibals? Is the Great Deku Tree an Ent? If not why does he talk and have a mouth and eyes? Why is he the only one that says stuff like "thou" "thy" "thee" "dost"? How do the scales help you dive deeper? Ok, I gotta get Cy duct tape...

Ok, to be serious, Link does not talk because they want you to be Link, not to play Link. However strange that sounds. LOL! Because they're weird. I dunno. Why are they cannibles? He's the only one who says all those fancy words cause he's old. He's not an Ent. He's just a mutant. Because, like scales on a keyboard which, if you play them the right way, get deeper and deeper, scales can do the same with dving. (I should have known KT would do someething random like this.) ;D

Ok, ok! I got a serious one. ...Really! Ok, How is the master sword in different places? Like in OoT it's in the Temple of time. And in WW it's ....some where else...or is that the Temple of Time too?

Well, KT, I can answer half of that Q. In TWW, that was Hyrule Castle. But I suppose they moved the Master Sword there or something. But in A Link to the Past, it is a very different story. How did the Master Sword end up in the Lost Woods? There is a game that just came out (some stupid one by Capcom...UGH...) that supposedly solves this issue. I have yet to read the story, however. I'm not going to get that game...Capcom's Zelda's smell badly. CURSE THE DAY THE BIG-N DECIDED TO HAND OVER THEIR BEST FRANCHISE TO A GROUP OF UNABLE...ok, rant over.

LOL! Eew! That's right, it was in the lost woods too! Eeew! Maybe they dug out the whole thing, concrete (or whatever it is) and all, then moved it. lol. *wink* LACK OF WINKS!

You said somewhere that you'd played Soul Caliber II. He doesn't talk in that either. He does these obnoxious little yell-y things.... I spend most of my time kicking him off of things, so.... but there are no words!!!

Yeah, he did some pretty weird noises in SCII. I didn't like em either. But yeah, Link's only audible word is "Strike!!!" in OoT. tis a tradition for him not to talk. I kinda like it, cause when the hero talks in VGs, they usually say REALLY retarded things, due to poor localization. Remember, most Nintendo games are made in Japan. So things over there aren't as cool over here sometimes. And in the case of dialogue, well, Zelda goes through HEAVY localization. That's why it takes them about 3 or 4 months to get a new Zelda out in North America after Japan.
And Cy, will respond to your Q. I just haven't had time to compile all the areas yet. ;D

I dontknow much about Zelda, cept she's really cool. My question would have to be.... Who is Link? (I'm sorry if it sounds dumb but I really don't know)

Nah, tis all AC. Link is the "underdog" and at the same time, the star of the Legend of Zelda: This is Link, say "hai" Link! He is the person you play in the games. Look to my sig for various pics of Link. Tis always the one with the hat. Heck, he's right here: Zelda is the Princess. Artwork of her in one of my sigs. Ganondorf, the bad guy, is also in one. The one with all the fightin'. Tis the huge evil lookin guy (no duh). Don't hesetate to ask questions. It's not an unusual thing to know very little about The Legend of Zelda. It's cool that you know any.

Yeah, no Zelda playing in any game yet...but rumors exist that Zelda will be playabe in the new Zelda, based on the scentence of one of the game's directors: "The idea of playing Princess Zelda will be realized in an upcomming title."
