Dobble posting. Ok, now that I'm calmed down, I'll give my thoughts on this glorious day for Zelda. First of all, it's been almost one year (303 days) since The Legend of Zelda for GCN was shown in video format. All we got was some stunning visuals of what was to come, a hint at the importance of mounted battles, and a look into the "grown up" Link. That was all that was given in the one minute of fottage shown at last years E3. Today, March 10th, is the Game Developers Conference, an anual event whech gives developers a chance to talk about their new stuff before showing it at E3. This year, in addition to talk, there was a video shown...a truly epic video. Yes, a Legend of Zelda trailer. This 1:30 minute video showcases some more of what to expect from the game. In addition to the already shown visuals, we get a look at some of the more beautifully artistic scenes in the game. Take a look at the lighting in these pictures: This first picture shows the most beautiful lighting I've ever seen in a video game, period. It rivals many films, IMO. The second pic (ignore the monkey for now) has a beautiful presentation of how the lighting seeps in through the cracks in the cieling. It almost floods in like water. This third pic shows a moonlit battle scene which also showcases some impressive light beams. The final pic has some moe of the beautiful shadowing/lighting effects that were in the first trailer. Obviously, Nintendo isn't going to let any minute detail go. It's all there...the tree shadowing...the beems of light caused by the branches...the fog/dust. Truly marvelous. And this pic shows one of the various new areas of the game, as well as the beautiful--no, perfect water. It doesn't do it justice; you have to see it in motion. The rippling effects...refraction, transparency, warping; it's all so beatiful. As for some new gameplay mechanics, it looks like some old/new weapons are already being revealed. Boomerang, Lens of Truth, and bomb arrows, are nighlighted in this video. Enemies seem to have increased their AI from what I've seen in this trailer. The short lizafols skirmish made me wish I was playing...it looks actually chalenging for a Zelda vet for once. Also, this game will be rated "T" Hands down. It's dark. Very dark. Undead creatures abound, ghosts, as well as a VERY creepy Gohma resembling Shelob most uncanilly. Some more scenes to feast your eyes on: Gorons and monkeys, stalfos and statue things, giant trees creatures and cats; this game'll be epic.

Yes, there are a few. I've got Ganondorf, Zelda, and Link from OoT. They were the offical Nintendo Power ones. But as for others, they're out there. Could probably find em on Ebay for an insane amount of money. I forgot to mention that the new Zelda trailer features origonal orchestrated music. My thoughts on this are that this Zelda may FINALLY be the one that breaks the bad music quality barrier. We may finally have full, beautiful, film-like-wquality music for the beloved Zelda series. Ah, I hope so.

Yeah, Entish is a good way to describe them...though the remind me of the "Daushin" from a Japanese based Nintendo game. Oh, and here's a pic (bad quality as I copied it from a still frame) of Shelob/Gohma: "Run, Mr. Frodo-I mean Link!" lolol

More Zelda info for ye peps who havn't seen the trailer. In addition to all the stuff I said in my last couple posts, I havn't even began to grace upon the subject of Link's new moves. Link will now beable to do many more things. I'm sure this is only the tip of the iceberg as well: 1) Swimming. Link will be able to FULLY swim under the water. Not like in OoT where he could only dive, this is full-fledged swimming. 2) Downward Thrust, a.k.a., Sword Plant. You know Link's move in Melee where he comes down on an enemy from above with his sword thrusting into the ennemy's cranium? Well, it's finally back in a 3D Zelda, not appearing since...well, AoL. It might've been in Four Swords Adventures, and I think it made a short appearance in TWW, but this time, it's back in all it's glory. 3) Shield Attack. FINALLY! Something I've wanted for a long time. Now Link can propperly use his shield. He can attack enemies with a quick slap with his shield. This is akin to what real fighters would do with their shields. 4) Sheath Sword. Although you could do this in every 3D Zelda by simply taping A while your sword was out (and while you were standing still), the new Zelda takes it to a new level, making the Sword Sheathing action more of a victory move. The ending of the first trailer was this move. Link takes a couple quick slices, spins his sword while rasing it to his scabbard, then sheathes it in a qick action. Very cool fanfare. 5) Boar Riding. It looks like Link will be able to hijack boars in addition to riding Epona. 6) Damage taking. Less of a move as more animation, when Link gets hit, not only is the flashing red animation gone, but he moves realistically from the impact. If he gets hit in the left side, he flinches to the right. Ok, now the animation. Wonderful. Pure bliss. When Link swims, his body moves as if he's being supported by the water. When he jump attacks, his tunic moves realistically. Jump attack is a marval for the eyes. Shelob--I mean Gohma's 8 legs, pluss two pichers, four teeth, and two apendages move ceacelessly in shuch a creepy way...boy I'll be screaming like a little girl fighting that monsterous beastie. When Link picks up a cat, he holds it in such a realistic way. Dragons flap and glide more realistically than even some movies dipict. And of course, Link's moves not only resemble his younger counterprt, but they also fit him very vividly. Detailing is amazing as well. Moss grows on overhanging branches, cats roam forests, fish inhabit the bodies of water, heat disortion is amazing, water is perfect, fog and dust are implimented very wonderously, rain is oh most epic, lighting is IMO the best part of the game's graphics so far, the moon is bright, meanancing, and beautiful, and the sun is the best ever in a video game. But this is all only the tip of the sword. This is just the trailor. I've never heard the argument that people play Zelda for it's graphics. It's the story and gameplay that it's famous for. That's why OoT won game of the year, and why it still remains the top game of any system to date. I might mention that this new Zelda has already reaches it's peak in hype, and the game is still months off. It's GPM rating at GameStats.com is a full 100. This has happened only for three games since the site's debut: TWW, Halo 2, and Grand Thieft Auto: San Andreas. And those were near release date. If this new Zelda can hold up for over 24 days in 100, then it will smash records as the most anticipated game of all time. But that's just hoping. On rumor matters, there is announced a "Priemium Edition" of the new Zelda, but there is no specifics yet. Reggie Filis-Amie said this in an interview. Likly, it wil be similar to the Gold Cartrege offers that were given with PreOrders of OoT and MM. Also, the Master Sword has unoffically been sighted in one of the scenes. The image is very blurred because it was blown up from a small image. It was likly photoshopped, but it would not surprise me if this game has the Blade of Evil's Bane. Which would likly entail Ganon as well.

maybe the game is like the Matrix.... and it's called Zelda because the creator liked the name of his friend's wife, which happened to be Zelda...read that in GI.
