We hasve quite a few poultry obsessed members here, so I figured we needed a place to talk about our birds! All other non-poultry people are welcomed to participate too!

What do you call poultry from outer space?
Eggstraterrestrials.

"What if everything on Earth died except chickens and plants?" "You'd either get really smart chickens, or really smart plants." LOL!!

Oh yeah. I remember that. The brilliant simpleness of Earl. Hehe, he reminds me of my cousin.
I went down to the barn today and while I was feeding the animals, I let my two turkeys out. The one blue slate turkey is so afraid, he runs away from anything. The other, the narangassett is a curious little thing and isn't too afraid of me. He will at least walk up to me. The other one just runs away.
I'm thinking of naming one of the turkeys Remus because one; it's a cool name and two; Remus Lupin (the book Remus Lupin, not the movie) is pretty cool too. I imagine him so differently in mind from how he is in the movie. I thought they picked a horrible character to play him. Especially if he's an auror (or working with aurors) he should look stranger and...generally cooler. Not the shrimpy little guy with a moustache he was in the movie. I still don't have any other names...except for Mush and Shroomy. I'm kind of partial to Shroomy. It's cute...and it has meaning. Maybe I'll name one Duane! Or Ira...ooo all these are good names. Haha, Evolution names...

Andromeda, Alpha Centauri...see? *shrug* I really wish I could stay with my chickens all week. Now that there's all this drama going on with pecking order, i feel like i am not getting to know the flock well enough by only being there half a week. *mimbles* can't do anything about that.

I used to have theme names. I started out using spice names and then I moved on to herbs. I've had space names, but now I just name them names that I like. Pigeons I always try to name after gods. I have a Cyprus, Apollo, and a Mercury. I also have a Chinese owl named Freedom, but only because I needed a quick name and didn't have anything else.

I get names lots of places...random places. There's a lot of space names among my chickens, cause they're so cool. Candy cause he came in a Reese's box, Blizzard cause he was born in the middle of winter (??) Mini cause she was the smallest of her brood, Lucky cause she was the only one left out of 13...
