Just thought we needed a thread about writing and the things we write about. Couldn't exactly decide where to put this so I figured when in doubt stick it in discussions...because it's bound to start some sort of discussion...or upheavel...or chaos...or discussion.
So, where do you all get your ideas for the stories that we so love to write? I know ESPS is a site filled with people who like to write.
I've been having a hard time thinking of a certain something to put in a "so called" story of mine. Not sure if I'll disclose the details...yet.
Anyway I was having a hard time thinking of this certain thing for the story and then experienced some every day normal happenings (well as normal as my happenings can be) and ideas just started popping into my head. It's funny how everday things and people can just inspire an entire story.
I guess my ideas come from some inner recess of myself...or my feelings. Sometimes I don't realize until later what they mean, sometimes I don't ever realize what they mean, sometimes I intentionally write a story to match my feelings. Sometimes I just write a story reflecting happenings in the world.
Sometimes I just have this idea, that comes out of no where. It makes perfect sense, all of it and then I write it down. The words just pour onto the paper and when I go back through my stuff a few days later I don't even remember writing the story/poem.
Sometimes dreams inspire my stories and sometimes tories inspire my stories. While reading this book the other day I had this amazing revolution about planets. I have no idea where it came from but I wrote it down. It would make an amazing story if I ever decide to write about it.
Sometimes, as happens in creative writing class, I have to force a story out. That's always the hardest thing to do.
