I am going to post a couple of things I wrote in Creative Writing last year. Some are short, but I enjoyed writing them.
This is a dialogue we had to write.
Mylo Deluther, a fairly wealthy man, and King Gyhann are currently in England during the middle ages. Mylo goes to the king to plead his innocence. He has been accused of murdering all the church’s horses. King Gyhann normally wouldn’t listen to a prisoner’s pleading, but thinks he might have another plan for Mylo. He has heard of Mylo extraordinary Horsemanship skills. The king listens as Mylo explains his story.
“I swear, I didn’t do it,” Mylo pleaded.
“You plead your innocence, yet my knights have collected sufficient evidence to prove you guilty,” King Gyhann implied calmly.
“Yes, I realize this, but still I know that I did not commit the crime,” protested Mylo.
“Ah, but I hear you are quite the horseman,” hinted the King
“Aye, tis’ true, if you say it so,” Mylo peeped now a little more worried than before.
“You’re a smart man, Mr. Deluther,” pondered King Gyhann.
“Why do you say that?” asked Mylo tentatively.
“Because I’m willing to give you a ticket out of punishment,” stated the King with a sly smile on his face.
“No...no punishment?” stammered Mylo.
“I will even tell the townspeople that you are completely innocent,” the king presented. “Whether or not you are lying, but you must do something for me.”
“What must I do?” Mylo queried, looking interested.
“As you have probably realized, I do not have a wife,” grunted the king who looked a bit bothered by this.
“Is that a problem?” questioned Mylo.
“Yes, it is,” complained the king.
“What can I do about that?” Mylo wondered. “I can’t give you a wife...can I?”
“There is a woman in mountains of Scotland,” informed King Gyhann. “She is a witch...an evil witch.”
“You want her as a wife?” suggested Mylo dumbly.
“No, of course not!” Shouted the King. “She has a beautiful daughter.”
“Ah, you’re after her daughter,” realized Mylo.
“Yes,” Gyhann voiced.
“But she is in Scotland... and we are in England,” Mylo remarked. “That’s far away.”
“That’s where you come into the picture,” King Gyhann grunted.
“Her mother’s a witch! You can’t possibly expect me to take her daughter!” Shouted Mylo.
“You will travel on horseback to the witch’s castle,” Croaked to King.
“Horse...Horseback? But where shall I get a worthy horse, for I have none able to make the journey,” Squeaked Mylo.
“Do not worry about that,” presented King Gyhann. “I have many fit horses for you to choose from. Follow me to the stables and you shall see.”
