K'ay, I just watched this movie (finally) and loved it. The story line, though confusing, was really well planned out, and it totally surprised me. Which, in turn surprised me. I had the Sixth Sense figured out about half way through it.
What'd'ye all think?

I loved the movie.. I freaked out with the red people but, that was just me.. I had a night mare about the red people after I watched that... I still don't understand why the people were hiding?

I know a lot of people who disliked this movie, but I personally loved it. Maybe people can't appreciate it if a scary movie has a plot that makes sense for once? Scary movies are overrated and often stupid...they disrupt the soul and for the young are especially harmful. But the Village didn't feel that way...twas cool.

I loved the fact that it had twists that were palpable. I love plot twists.
And the Elders founded the Village place because they wanted to get away from all the world's evil. I'm pretty sure... t'was a rather confusing movie. I loved it.

I liked it because the plot was original. With scary movies these days you don't get that these days.
The only thing I was confused with is the end. *spoiler warning*
Scroll down
Did Joaquin Phoenix die at the end, or was he still alive. I think he was alive, but my creative writing teacher said he had died.

That makes it good. One of Hawthorn's three A's.... ambiguity, I think.
Which means the ending is open to interpretation. As in, do the Elders tell the village their secret? Great ending.

Ahh, I was waiting for someone to say she was pretty.. Yea, I thought Ivy was too.. That is such a beautiful name too.. What ever happened to the Village Idiot? Did they, ever find him and give him a proper burial or did they like not care and just never go out to find him..

'Nother open ending. I liked the hole thing. That was the one part I had figured out... but I had no idea the red person was Noah... *shudders*
And how did they make all the weird snuffly noises? That was the only really scary stuff... the sounds. Sounds are scary. Visuals don't usually bother me... though they did those well, too. *shudders again*

I agree, the sounds are scarier. I saw that in Signs, when the alien things were on the radio. That made me heart stop.
The howling type noises that were heard in the beginning of the movie were cars passing by on the outside highways I believe. Have you ever heard a truck go by? It makes a strange wailing noise. I just know this because Rt. 80 is near the road I live on and in the winter one can hear the trucks really well.

That makes sense... I live on a highway.. know what ya mean.
The only scary part about Signs was afterwards, I was in my basement, and my dog was walking around on the floor upstairs. Making the exact same sounds the aliens did. *shudders* Reality is frightening.

It is okay.. I just stayed up for the longest time with my lights on.. Then, I also locked the door so no one could get in and put my music on so, I wouldn't think about those noises.. I seriously did get goose bumps when I was reading the post and I could hear the noises from Signs and from The Village..
