While not many people celebrate Halloween here in the UK, the college is having a party for it, and I'll be going as a geisha/ninja in disguise in my cool new Chinese dress. ^_^ I just need (poisoned) chopsticks now...are you guys dressing up? Going trick-or-treating? I'm not too old for that yet!

I'm basically just using Halloween as my excuse to make my own set of Jedi robes. Which I enjoy wearing on an everyday basis anyway (seriously, they're just so comfy and functional).
I'll probably end up being my sister's escort when she goes trick-or-treating. I'm not really fond of candy, so much of the appeal of the activity is completely lost on me, but most people would think twice before trying to bug a kid who's being bodyguarded by a Jedi Knight.

lol! I was a Jedi for quite a few Halloweens in a row, and a Sith last year, which was the same costume I used for ComicCon. (yay for being cheap?)
Jedi robes are so...cuddly? Is that a good word for it? Comfortable.

They are, really. I'm making mine out of unbleached cotton (on hindsight, probably should have gone with linen, but cotton might be better for the climate out here), with some absolutely lovely wool suiting fabric for the robe.
So far I've got the undertunic and pants done, and I wore them to Wal-Mart last night. It was awesome.
...You wouldn't happen to know how to tie an obi, would you?

LOL wore them to Wal-Mart? Win.
...karate-style, or Jedi-style?

So, FYI, we got the whole thing finished and it is awesomer than awesome. But I believe I have already discussed this with Cy on DA.
Let me just say, I am constantly and actively searching out excuses to wear this thing more often.
And Jedi-style (in terms of width, it's more of a sash than a belt), if you happen to know. If not, that's okay, I figured out a way of wrapping it that holds it together quite well, especially with a belt on top for extra security.
It's the best thing I've ever worn.

You should wear it to a movie. Not Star Wars, just some movie.
As for Jedi-style, silvertrumpeter on dA might know. She's got a good Jedi costume.

I should. Next time there's actually a movie I'm interested in, and I have the money to see it, I totally will. Geek power!
Thanks for the tip...probably shouldn't bother her with obnoxious questions, though.

I'm a little late, but yes, I did dress up. I was a vampire/goth/robed...thing. I couldn't find good quality vampire teeth that would stay in for the night so I just did a bunch of makeup. Didn't actaully go trick or treating though *tear*. I actually went to a haunted illusions magic show with my mom. We had a lot of fun!

Oh, we went to this ghost tour that you would have loved. Not on Halloween, but in November--the day before Friday the thirteenth. It was really quite frightening--people said they felt things touching their backs, a witches' coven had set up a stone circle that supposedly had a spirit trapped inside...(needless to say, someone stepped inside the circle and nothing happened).

Clones *hugs*, Sith, Jedi, and Transformers were all very popular this year.

I saw quite a few little clone troopers--I wanted to run over to them and be like "HAY LOOK I AM COOL LIKE YOU LET'S GO FIGHT THE SEPARATISTS AND THEN YOU CAN TURN ON ME AND GUN ME DOWN" buuuuut I think I would have been mauled by their mothers.
Yeah, I don't actually hang out with adults ever.
