It is a prosperous time for the galaxy.
Luke Skywalker and the students of his academy on Yavin IV have defeated the Sith Exar Kun.
The Solo children, Kyp Durron and his classmates, and others are well on their way to becoming the new guardians of peace and justice.
Unbeknownst to them, a group of dark Jedi who survived or avoided the Empire Reborn movement have taken up residence near an ocean on the other side of the planet.
The darkness inherent in the ancient temples all over the planet is beginning to stir.
You are the newest resident of Yavin IV. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
PitD character sheets go here! Find the template in the "How We RP Here" thread.

My character:
Name: Ka-Du-Roan (goes by Ka) Age: 17 Gender: Female Species: Tiss'shar Homeworld: Tiss'sharl Height: 1.6 meters Build: average Hair: none Eyes: black Force User or Non-Force User: Force-user (untrained)
Moral Alignment: Good Political Affiliation: Jedi Typical clothing: brown tunic, sash, items belt Weapon: bo staff
Personality: Ka's personality is defined by her curiosity. She will talk to anyone to learn more about their life. She is innocent of matters pertaining to the dark side due to her civilian upbringing, and so thinks that she is unafraid of the dark.
--Emotional strength(s): Enthusiasm, desire to learn
--Physical strength(s): As a Tissh'shar, Ka is naturally more resilient than a human, even though she has not been trained. She could appear intimidating to someone who doesn't know her.
--Emotional weakness(es): Sometimes, she just doesn't know when to stop talking. She is inexperienced in matters of diplomacy.
--Physical weakness(s): As a teenager, she's growing so fast that she tends to trip over her own feet or tail.
--Something you can't do very well: Math. While she is a decent student, Ka has utterly no patience for any thing harder than geometry.
--History:-- Ka was raised by her parents, a used-speeder salesman and medium-level government worker. The Force manifested itself in her life as the occasional prophetic dream, but she did not identify it as such.
She realized her Force potential when a Jedi Master visited her planet's home city, where she lived, and pointed her out. Her family let her go, if reluctantly. They had a very skewed perception of the Jedi and imagine that if she returns, which she would very much like to do, it will be as a mysterious cowled monk who speaks only psychically. They also felt the need to provide her with a weapon, and dug up a staff that her father had used when he studied martial arts as a hobby in his own teenage years. She has taken well to her first week at the academy but does not yet have a Master.

Name: Kono'Vus (goes by Kon) Age: Late-twenties Gender: Male Species: Twi'lek (Lethan) Homeworld: Born on Ryloth, raised on Coruscant Height: 1.9m (6'3") Build: Muscular, fit. Handsome as Lethan Twi'leks often are. Hair: N/A Eyes: Yellow-orange Force User or Non-Force User: Slight. Can move small objects, flick switches, etc. Has slight premonition, enabling faster-then-normal reflexes. A well advanced Jedi youngling could do as much, if not better. Moral Alignment: Neutral Political Affiliation: None. He's a thief/mercenary Typical clothing: Pilot's uniform with chest/shoulder armor, gauntlets. A few earrings. Oh heck, here's a quick sketch.Weapon: KYD-21 Blaster Pistol Personality: Kon is driven by money and adventure (but mostly money). He gets his way by manipulating others through smooth-talk, bribery, and lies. Strengths:Emotional strength: Quick-witted, sharp. Inspired (when he wants to be). Commanding and confident, Kon was always first choice as a gang leader. Physical strength: Well-rounded and strong in every part of his body, Kon takes pride in his looks, scars and all. Skill: Excellent blaster aim, good pilot. Weaknesses:Emotional weakness: Vain, stubborn, and greedy. Physical weakness: He's suffered damage to his sensitive lekku. Any harsh contact to them causes him pain. Something you can't do very well: Sing. Babysit. History: Kono'Vus was raised in a wealthy home on Coruscant, his parents both involved in government. Despite his plush upbringing, he always preferred the theif's life, stealing, fighting, and smuggling his way to survive. He was kicked out and disowned at 16 for his unruly behaviour. Kon was always the leader of his own gang, but never the highest ranking in the underground, since that included sitting around on his arse all day and never getting out. He realized his slight ability in the Force when he was a youngling, but kept it to himself, quietly learning what he could and couldn't do himself. He never thought of pursuing becoming a Jedi, deciding to use his abilities for his greedy ways. Now, Kon finds himself on a permanent course to Yavin IV, finding his hyperdrive, navigation system, and astromech droid in his illegally gained T-65AC4 X-wing Starfighter tampered with. His only hope is a crash landing far enough away from any major camps...

I know you were asking about whether you need to be approved before beginning to play, and I'm gonna be pretty lax about that for now, but figured I'd say it anyway--good character--you're definitely in. It'll be interesting to see how he clashes with straight-edge Jedi. That's a great smirk in the picture too. XD

I have a character in mind, don't know when I'll get the free time to actually fill out a sheet for her though... I may join in a bit later, so don't feel like you've got to wait for me to do anything interesting.

All right. I just hope there's enough of us to be interesting. I may be advertising on dA more too, although that didn't work well the first time around.

Name: Kyla Jerrik Age: 12 Gender: Female Species: Human Homeworld: Kuat Height: 4'9" (grah, sorry, don't know what that is in metric) Build: Thin and wiry Hair: Black and coarse, done up in cornrows that reach to her shoulders, though she usually has them tied back. Eyes: A milky, cloudy blue-grey--her pupils aren't visible. Force User or Non-Force User: Force User (Here's a reference picture, though it's pretty old and the anatomy's not too good: misao-chan.deviantart.com/art/Kyla-Jerrik-103211688 ) Moral Alignment: Good Political Affiliation: Jedi Typical clothing: Simple tunics and pants in subdued colors. Weapon: None at the moment. Personality: Extremely friendly and outgoing, always willing to make friends with just about anyone. Energetic, pro-active, and curious about the galaxy around her, although she can be a little absent-minded at times. Skills: --Emotional strength: Perky and optimistic, and capable of seeing the bright side of things no matter what happens. --Physical strength: Quick on her feet, with fast reflexes and a measure of acrobatic skill. --Skill: Force sight, the ability to perceive the world around her with the Force, in an enhanced level of clarity and cognition. It goes above the level of "sensing" to approaching something more like "seeing", although the process is entirely mental and Force-based. Weaknesses: --Emotional weakness: Extremely naive. Also, in her enthusiasm and zeal, she can often overlook crucial details. Very young and inexperienced, and so has a difficult time discerning others' intentions, at least not without the help of the Force. --Physical weakness: Not very physically strong. Also, she is completely physically blind. Hence, her eyes tend to emit somewhat of a blank stare most of the time, regardless of the level of expression of the rest of her face, which may be off-setting to some. --Something you can't do very well: Make decisions on her own--she's too used to being babied. History: Kyla was born on Kuat to an aristocratic family living in Kuat City. When she was three, her family was involved in a speeder accident that damaged her eyes and forced her mother and older brother to wear cybernetic limbs. To complicate matters, the accident happened around the time when the Empire and the New Republic were vying for control of the planet, meaning resources were sapped and Kyla was unable to get adequate medical attention, rendering her permanently blind. However, because she had lost her physical sight, her Force sensitivity began showing through, as she found that she could "see" the flow of life. Although the ability only manifested itself faintly at first, she carefully cultivated it through self-training, until her Force sight was able to nearly reach the level of normal Human physical sight (and surpass it in some ways). As Kyla reached adolescence, her parents conferred with her and they decided that it would be best for her to train in the Jedi Order, which would help her further develop her Force abilities so that she might have a chance to be able to function normally in life (and of course bring peace to the galaxy).

I’ll play the Sith Lord if necessary and this guy most of the time:
Name: Tranner Wo Age: 25 Gender: male Species: Togruta Homeworld: Shilli Height: 5’8” Build: muscular Hair: N/A: He has typical Togruta striped head-tails, along with vertical stripes of white over his eyes and on his hands, and wears a necklace of horns a few inches long around his montrals. He typically lets his lekku get tucked behind his arms. Eyes: Blue Force User or Non-Force User: Force-user
Moral Alignment: Dark Political Affiliation: Sith Typical clothing: black flightsuit with the sleeves rolled up, a bandoleer and armored chest and leg-plates Weapon: wrist-mounted lightsabers
Personality: Goal-oriented and no-nonsense, Tranner lost some important social development years when he was in training to be an Inquisitor instead of going to school with beings his own age. He’s never really had a friend or a relaxed social life. Therefore, while he doesn’t mind keeping to himself, he also doesn’t know what he’d be like as a conversationalist rather than knowing it’s not his thing.
--Emotional strength(s): Focus, drive to succeed, bravery, confidence in himself that he can achieve what he was sent to do.
--Physical strength(s): Tranner is physically fit and used to climbing walls and things to get to places he needs to be. He is also good at Force stealth and Drain Life. As a Togruta, he is able to sense spaces with his montrals, and can pick up martial forms slightly quicker than the average human.
--Emotional weakness(es): He’s really a bit emotionally stunted; hasn’t experienced the wide range of loves and disappointments that come with being a teenager, and not used to fighting against Dun Moch (taunts). Mention of his parents’ deaths, his ignorance about the lives of civilians and non-Force sensitives, or patronizing him could send him into one of the rages the dark side tends to like.
--Physical weakness(s): Tranner has a bad shoulder from a fall during training; it is more vulnerable to pain than the other and he cannot move that arm as smoothly. He also is used to doing martial art forms more based on stealth and subdoing the emperor’s political opponents ; therefor he isn’t very good at groundfighting or at fighting an experienced or Force-sensitive opponent for a very long time. Seeing as all Jedi were dead or in hiding, he has had very little training in saber-against-saber combat.
--Something you can't do very well: Take orders. After working for the Empire, he is both reveling in his independence and uncertain of how to judge who is worth taking orders from.
--History:-- His parents were both Imperial Inquisitors, killed during infighting between the Moffs shortly after the death of the emperor. They were some of the few alien employees of the Empire, kept around more for the emperor’s personal use in difficult combat situations such as traitorous political figures surrounding themselves with bodyguards, and the death of the parents may have been orchestrated by anti-alien Imperials—but Tranner is not driven by this. He was raised with Force-sensititves and also with the idea that they are in debt to the emperor for his superior Force power—he respects those with skill. So when Luke’s academy began to be visible on the psychic radar, Tranner approached it—but found relatively weak-Force-users lead by the one who had killed the emperor. Tranner can’t really decide whether he should idolize or hate Luke Skywalker for that. But he always heard of the Jedi as weak, and so cannot quite bring himself to outright join them.

Darth Ruen will only come into the plot if necessary.
Name: Darth Ruen (born Kate Misinjian) Age: 62 Gender: female Species: human Homeworld: Coruscant Height: 5’4" Build: wiry Hair: long wavy, and silver Eyes: green Force User or Non-Force User: Force-user
Moral Alignment: Dark Political Affiliation: Sith Typical clothing: black robes and patterned tabards, flat shoes, a white mask painted with red and black swirls that covers her whole face Weapon: single-bladed red lightsaber
Personality: Having never been outgoing by nature, and now effected by years of hiding from the Empire, Ruen prefers to avoid people. She feels strong emotions, such as hate or love, vividly, but also can be capricious, loyal one moment and rebellious the next, because of shifts in those emotions. She is strongly desirous of gaining personal power, even though she knows that she is no match for the likes of Darth Sidious.
--Emotional strength(s): Although a student may be hard pressed to enjoy Ruen’s blunt and sometimes insulting method of teaching, if they do persevere they will find her an accomplished teacher, able to adapt Force techniques to best fit the individual strengths of her pupils.
--Physical strength(s): Despite her age, Ruen has learned to use the Force to augment her strength. She has strong muscles for her age, and is proficient in telekinesis and Force lightning.
--Emotional weakness(es): Because of her high-strung nature, Kate is very suseptible to Dun Moch, the practice of disheartening one’s enemy verbally.
--Physical weakness(s): She isn't very speedy, although she can be very agile
--Something you can't do very well: It has never been easy for Ruen to achieve a calm and focused state, and this tendency toward passionate emotions was a factor toward her leaving the Jedi. It also makes it difficult for her to tap into the Force energies on Yavin IV.
--History:-- When she was still known as Kate Misinjian, the people who knew her would have said she was a perhaps-too-passionate Jedi Initiate. She willingly left the Coruscant Temple when she was sixteen to seek out other means of learning the Force.
After leaving her Master, Kate began to self teach herself what she could about both sides of the Force. She favored darkness for the simple reason that she’d always been denied it’s power as a Jedi. The Sith Master, however, would not train her, and fortunately wouldn’t even expend the energy to kill her. She studied in literal and metaphorical shadow; during the Purge and the years that followed she moved to Coronet and took the name Darth Ruen. It was there that she met Asha Scarsi, another former Jedi in hiding, and began to train her. When they were eventually found out by the Empire, Ruen faked her own death, fooling even Asha, and disappeared again, this time to Tralis, where she remained hidden until the rise of the New Jedi Order.
Upon learning of the death of the last two Sith in the galaxy, and the subsequent building of Luke Skywalker’s academy on Yavin IV, Ruen declared herself a Sith Master and went, initially, to observe the Temple and Jedi students. A Sith Master would, of course, need an apprentice eventually, and she couldn’t help but remember her own past all too clearly.

I'll jump in with one other character later on when I post my first chapter, but this is my main character for now. *I have off of school tomorrow, so I'll post my chapter then.*
Name: HHIR-9/20 (Astrin) Age: Estimated to be around 17 years of age. Gender: Female Species: Humanoid Hybrid (No true species) Homeworld: None Height: 5’ 5’’ Build: Slender and frail in appearance. Very pale skin. Hair: White, closely cropped, tends to stand on end giving it a spiked appearance (hidden beneath hood of cloak and mask). Eyes: Slightly almond shaped. Deep crimson around iris on a light red background. (hidden behind mask). Force User or Non-Force User: Force User
Moral Alignment: Neutral
Political Affiliation: New student to the Jedi Order
Typical clothing: Wears featureless frosted silver mask that is divided in half horizontally by a reflective eye slit. Clothing includes a heavy pearl gray cloak that covers white robes, tunic, gloves, and gray boots. Over-all appearance is akin to the Jedi traditional dress.
Weapon: None. (Untrained for combat) Personality: Extremely quiet, methodical, and meek in nature.
Skills: Knowledgeable in many biological studies including: herbalism and naturopathic medicine.
--Emotional strength: Is both sympathetic and empathetic to others. Force senses are acute in detecting illness or emotion stress.
--Physical strength: Light build makes for swift and agile movements. Has a honed capable of suppressing pain sensitivity in self or others through the use of the Force.
--Skill: Skilled in the art of healing and Force influence.
Weaknesses: Is often distracted by new experiences and sights. Usually takes prompting to join in a conversation.
--Emotional weakness: Quiet nature is often mistaken for lack of interest or even hostility. Being passive aggressive, Astrin tends to be more defensive when engaged by an opponent than offensive.
--Physical weakness: Is vulnerable to most UV intense environments and therefore must wear protective clothing and face shield.
--Something you can't do very well: Initial aggression, engaging an opponent before they strike first.
History: Personal history is murky at best. Subject HHIR-9/20 was a rescue from an underground medical lab. Having been saved, she was nursed back to health through intensive therapy and christened Astrin by her temporary guardian. During recovery, it quickly became appeared the teenager had some oddities besides being a Force-user.
After an innocent but painful experience, medical staff discovered the adolescence to have Xeroderma Pigmentosum, a very rare recessive genetic disorder of the skin, making it unable to cope with UV light exposure. After being diagnosed, precautions were put into place to protect both Astrin’s skin and eyesight. The sensitivity to UV is so great, that even artificial light must be tested for before protective coverings can be removed.
Unsure what to do with the “orphan”, her guardian looked for someone willing to take her in. Having been approved for training at the Yavin Jedi Academy, Astrin is unsure what is to be expected of her but is looking forward to starting a live away from the shadowy past she’d been rescued from.

Nighthawk, your character could have been hired by Luke to check out the Sith presence, in which case he might run into demarion and Morn, or to teach Padawans combat training, in which case he could set up a meeting with Ka and Kyla.

Okay, that works fine. Just let me know beforehand if you're going to write for Luke, simply so that we don't have two people playing any NPC at the same time.

The hobbit below the hobbit above me is fine with that, he really has no intention of writing for Luke. Not that Luke needs somebody to write for him.
The hobbit below the hobbit above me would like to remind Morn that his char. is currently in the temple, and if he read it right, Morn is outside the temple. So the hobbit below the hobbit above me is rather curious as to why Morn is looking through walls. At least, the hobbit below the hobbit above me thinks thats what happened.

lol Luke can write for himself.
Also, I am adding to the rules up there the policy for fights and character deaths; basically that fights go as fluidly as possible until the players PM one another and figure out who wins/what the outcome is. Deaths are entirely up to all players concerned and therefore I'd rather not bring in the clone/Force ghost concept unless it's important to the plot. Does that make sense?
