2010, the year of...futuristic-sounding-ness. Are you excited? A lot has happened to me this year, but, idk, New Years tends to feel like any other day to me. We should totally be more like the Chinese and have giant dragon puppets.

I dunno if "excited" is the word I'd use for it...more like "apprehensive". I can already tell I'm going to be doing a lot of working next year.
Re: giant dragon puppets--I concur heartily.
Earlier this year (which will be "last year" tomorrow--freaky) I actually got to see a performance of one of those for the Chinese New Year. It was awesome.

New Year Day...it comes, it goes, and yet again time flows.
I guess I look forward to the prospect of new things, but as for the day it self, its like any other day to me.

I would be totally content to just sleep all day. New Years was never very exciting for me but this year apparently I agreed to go to a gathering at someone's house. Ugh...I really, really don't want to go, but I have to at least show my face.

Yeah, it basically feels like any other day. I know I'm up that late all the time. XD
I went to an entertaining party, though (We played Jenga--it was hoppin'), and have a resolution, albeit the same one I make, like, every day--to write more original fiction.

I ended up NOT going to that party, but we ended up having like three ambulance calls. I got all dressed for each one, pulled my car out in the snow only to be told I could cancel. This happened every single time I tried to sit down and watch Alien vs. Predator. Finally I gave up and spent the rest of the night downloading cool terminator remixes.
Wasn't such a bad night actually. I just wish I wasn't feeling so sick.

Urgh, sounds stressful. lol I caught Aliens vs. Predator on TV yesterday. The animation didn't thrill me; I think oddly enough I've been spoiled by having read the Predator books first and liking their society.

Yeah, I have to say I wasn't a fan of the animation either, and there were so many plot holes it was sickening after awhile. I did like the italian guy though, and some of the action was decent. The main predator was neat too. I don't think I watched that movie since it came out in theatres.
I don't think I've read any of the books yet, but I know I have a few. I should pick them up someday and read a bit. I'd probably enjoy them.

I just remember reading them at the lunch table in high school. They really expanded on the culture, and probably contained as much action as the movies.

I actually remember you reading them now. You told me back then how much you liked them.
Right now I'm reading Douglas Adam's "Life, The Universe, And Everything". I love Douglas Adams so very much!
Haha, well I've gone really off topic for this new year's thread.

I sense a great disturbance in the topic Force balance of the holidays!
Douglas Adams deserves the love. Eion Colfer also, but less so.
