Get a crestie! They're about the easiest lizard to care for. They don't need heat as long as your house is about room temp (between 65 and 70 F) and they eat a crested gecko diet which is basically a powder that you mix with water. You hardly have to clean their cages and you can use a ten gallon when they are younger and then upgrade to a 20 gal or a large rubbermaid box. My guy cost $35 because he was a baby and nothing fancy, but they range anywhere between $35-$100. I saw many adults (That were gorgeous!) for about $65. They are definitely a fun lizard!

Cute! I would love to own a rosy boa. They're gentle snakes and don't get much larger than about a foot or two. Their scales are different too. Because they live in sandy areas, their smooth and rounded. Its feels like your holding strands of pearls against your skin!

I would LOVE to have a snake, but my mom hates them. I guess I won't be able to have one of my own until I move out! :-(
Honestly I was surprised she was ok with the gecko idea.

I like all animals. And one day I may potentially get a Komodo Dragon. Yeah, weird I know.

I really want a black and white tegu. If you haven't seen one, google them! They are like the dogs of the lizard world. They grow to be abut 5 or 6 feet long and they LOVE attention. This lady at the reptile show was cuddling one and she petted his head and he closed his eye. I swear I could hear him say "Ahhhh!". Sooo cute!

I really want an iguana.
But in actuality, I want a parrot. Like a hyacinth macaw or African grey or something. Expensive ones. <3

If you buy an iguana, get a female. The males are friendly until they hit puberty and then they're mean.

Hey Demarion, don't cross out parrot rescues! Tons of great birds with awesome personalities always looking for homes and they are usually free! Of course the initial expense of getting a setup can be costly, but so few people know about all the rescues out there. Parrots are one of the most unwanted pets in America, interestingly enough. Too many people buy them cause they are cute and then realize they are too much work. But if you've done your research, they certainly are awesome pets!

That's good advice, thanks! I'll look into it... eventually. x__x
Some day, I will have a parrot... Although a hyacinth macaw is near unobtainable. Those are like the Rolls Royce of the parrot kingdom.

I've actually seen quite a few of them in rescues here in NJ. You just have to do a little searching and make some contacts in the parrot world. Hyacinths are real gentle giants. They are HUGE but so sweet. I have a soft spot for african greys too. I think if I was going to get a parrot, they would be one of my top choices! I also like goffin cockatoos and Mollucans, but some mollucans can have a heck of an attitude! (Can you tell I used to work in a parrot sanctuary? LOL)

I'm a huge geek for birds, parrots especially. (I have a hyacinth macaw character, as a matter of fact xD) Wish we had parrot rescue things here. I'd have to import from the states, so then it gets pricey. I got bit by my friend's African grey once, gave me a fever too. xD I forgave her though, because she was so cute. <3
I kinda figured you worked with animals with all your crazy knowledge of them. x3 So jealous.

Marcus looks awesome! He's got such huge eyes. Is he full grown? I love iguanas, the really big ones where you can see all the individual scales and spines. Of course, they are the sort that get to four feet long and I don't honestly think I'd put that in my house, but they look like aliens.

Cy,
He's actually only three months old. His body is about three inches long now but he'll grow to about 6-10 inches by about a year. The darned lizard eats like a pig, so it shouldn't take too long! I have him in a ten gallon now, but I'll probably have to get something bigger by the time he grows up.

Yes! I was actually quite surprised at the size of some of the adult geckos at the show! I was happy to find a baby because I love watching them grow up! I also found out they can live for 15 to 30 years, so hopefully I have a long term pet LOL
