Anyone see it yet? I just saw it yesterday and it was sooo cuuuute. <3 I wanna get my hands on a Toothless plushie if they're available. T'was finally a decent movie about dragons.
If we weren't so busy, I'd suggest a role play with it, if others had seen it. xD

I loved it! The dragon was sooo cute. I think walmart actually has stuffed animals of the dragons for like $15. I'm going to see if I can't get one myself. I thought Toothless was the cutest out of all of them!
A dragon rider role play would be a neat idea, even if it doesn't have much to do with the movie.

I haven't seen it yet! I didn't particularly like the books, but I've heard the movie was good, and the dragon designs are delightfully fluid and alien.
Dragonrider RP, fandom-related or no....intriguing.

They're based on books? MUST READ.
I could totally run a dragonrider RP. Based on... whatever entails dragonriding like the movie (or Dragonriders of Pern, or Eragon... I got characters from years ago for both), or just something original!

I loved the movie. As I've told Cy many times, I want a Night Fury!
The books are different than the movie though. Toothless in the book is a small common green dragon, not an awesome Night Fury like in the movie.

Characters from years ago from Pern! I have those.
The books are for a very young audience...

I saw HTTYD last night, and was so much more impressed than I expected to be.
I'd be up for a post-movie RPG in a heartbeat.
Toothless was so much fun to watch move, and you could see how the animators researched birds and bats (or bees, in the case of the big lumbering ones) to see how the dragons would move. I loved how the kid was a artist/engineer--that gave him a lot of character. The music was really cool and the end fight had some absolutely beautiful scenes. This movie did everything I wanted it to do-- okay, except in the case of its romance subplot, but let's not talk about that. One of the most shocking/impressive things was....
SPOILER!
That they cut the kid's foot off at the end. That was...really un-Disney, and really emotionally jarring. His reaction was brief but really well-done.

This reminds me of Hagrid. I think I might have read the book (or something like it) and thought it was good, but the movie looked okay, just a bit to animationish..

I nearly cried at the end when you saw the kid with one leg and the dragon with half his tail. That shot where you saw them from the back, side by side, was very well done!
I really wanted to get a dragon stuffed animal, but every time I go to walmart they only have the ugly kronkels. Hopefully they will get another shipment in!

I thought it was real touching how they both were missing a part of them. <3
Not to mention Toothless was just the CUTEST THING I'VE EVER SEEN. Reminded me of one of my cats, actually. xD
As for a RP, I'd be glad to host, but I think we need to wait until everyone is out of school before we start another...

That was so touching! I didn't think it was a step the writers would take in a kids' movie, but it was brilliant. I liked how the kid triumphed by using his brain, you know? Hehe although that sounds so corny when you say it. And the dragon had such good reactions, very much like a wild animal (although I've heard and experienced that as you keep wild animals they get less, not more, tame as they grow up. But these dragons had a measure of intelligence, so I guess it doesn't work that way in their region, hehe.) This is on my list of movies I might buy.
Agreed about starting the RP in the summer.
