Yes, it was a boy who said predators were hot, and no he wasn't talking about girl predators. This was under "different" circumstances.

I've never heard of such a rule...but it seems rebellion will be on the rise. Rebellion is an aftereffect of depression....it is human to try to avoid the things you dislike. Maybe that is what depression is, being in a state where you no longer have that urge to help yourself. You just languer. That sounds familier. It is a trench, or a grave, you get dug into.

I must beg to differ. Rebellion is not always an after effect of depression. In 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade, rebellion for me was a way to make teachers mad. I wasn't depressed....just having fun. I'm still rebellious, and I hardly consider myself depressed. Sad at times maybe, but I'm not one of those people who sit around hating my life. I see too much good in my life to be depressed. I have a bland outer personality if one does not know me, and thus the reason why I appear so...well blank to some. It's only once you get to know me that one sees my true identity/personality. Does this make sense?

I know... Well, don't worry, you shall see our school in the paper in the next few months.. They are going to have a protest of this new rule.. The juniors are starting it and the rest are joining in.. It should be very interesting... yea, what you said makes complete sense..

Maybe that is what depression is, being in a state where you no longer have that urge to help yourself. You just languer. I think I agree with that. And maybe rebellion can be an aftereffect of depression, but certianly not always. Not with many people I know. What is this law about exactly?

I don't think there is a state of helplessness. I believe if someone is depressed they are more then capable to do something about it. THat's what I hate, when people sit around talking of their problems and saying that they hate their life, they hate their parents. Well you know what I would LOVE to tell them? "Go freaking do something about it" Everyone is more then capable and this I know for a fact. People choose to be depressed. I realize people have to go through some pretty rough times, but that doesn't mean they have to sit and be depressed about it. They should go out and talk a walk, or do something. Either that or I say go get some Zoloft....I hear it works wonders for the mind....

Ok...my problem? I TOTALLY can't do a thing about it. I mean, I really can't. I guess if you could count WATING then yeah...there's something, but besides that there's NOTHING I can do about it! Actually, I tried doing something about this problem before...GUESS WHAT! It didn't work....not at all... Woops! I'm on the ESPS and depressed! BAI!

People decide to be depressed and try to share their feelings with other people.. It isn't wrong to but, they should go to a group or talk to a counselor.. Although, by showing the average person what depression is and what type of life can be lead by depression it can help "us" to stay undepressed and learn what can make us depressed and not.. It is almost liek a cure for cancer.. This time though, people can find out what makes them depressed and stay away from it and maybe people won't be ass depressed anymore..

How can you DECIDE to be depressed? I'm depressed and I'm not sharing my feelings or hurts. I'm just plain stating that I'm depressed so beware. lol. My depression is different. The only thing I can do is change my thoughts and thinmk about other things. But you know how hard that is? HARD! I mean how can ya not think about what you're going through...and then realize you shouldn't be going through this anyway?!

I can't really answer that, but I think depression is a state of mind.
I mean, I have been depressed, but never to the point of where I could not bring myself out of it. Maybe that means I've never really been depressed, just sad? I dunno.

I agree that SOME depression is a state of mind. I'm depressed about two things...one I can change my state of mind but how? How can ya think of something else when there's nothing exciting happening? (I'm not really searching for an answer to that...I'm just getting my thoughts out there...) But what if somebody hurts you and you get REALLY sad....is that just much sadness or would it be depression? But then much sadness could be depression....Grrr. *is confuseded*

I almost consider Depression where all one wants is death. To me it is when one believes the only way out of their problems is through death.
Otherwise I consider it sadness, but this is just me.
Moods also change with seasons. For example, I consider winter a sad time. There is death in animals, and ppl just generally seem to be in bad moods. Right now I am so happy no matter what happens. You could tell me anything and it wouldn't matter because when I think of the beautiful weather and all the great times I will have this spring and summer, I forget all hardships.
See now if you have nothing fun to look forward to, maybe you could make something to look forward to? Like me for example, I have chickens and other birds and every year I look forward to hatching out baby chicks. Thinking about this always lifts my spirits. Also just making plans with my friends gives me something to look forward too. Usually I am pretty busy and while this can become tiring, it keeps my mind active, and out of the pits.
Now of course I do have problems and what not. A lot of times I have to see doctors for my diabetes and it never seems like I do anything right, so during these times I get sad, but if I just go outside I find peace. For me my barn is my haven. That place can take away any bad feelings. Even horseback riding clears my mind.
Perhaps for you it could be something like bicycle riding, or even reading a book. All you need is to keep your mind active and well fed. Then you will have much less time to linger on bad things. Also you could try making a list of all the good things in your life or all the advantages you have. A lot of times these things are overlooked. Even the smallest details can make a person feel better.
There are solutions for everything. If someone is being hurt too, by another person, I suggest they go find help. No one should have to take that, but they always have the option to find help, whether it be a friend, or the authorities.

Sometimes a place can help with fixing problems. Whenever things get too much for me I just go down to the bottom of our garden and sit on the old swing that's there. Even if it's raining, it just helps to have a chance to clear my head and let go. It can be that doing too much is making it worse: that's why I just like to sit quietly.

Yes, you are exactly right. No two ppl are the same and that's why one needs to find out what makes them feel better. No one can rely solely on others.
