I have been waiting for this. The next Celebration (massive Star Wars con) will be held in August in Orlando, Florida.
There'd been this hiatus between this one and the last and I wasn't sure there'd be another one. No announcements have been made as to itinerary or guest list yet, but...I'll raise the money somehow! XD Especially if certain actors are gonna be there. I've never been to a Celebration.
Excited? Y/Y

Whoa...awesome. I've never been to one either. I wonder if my friend who lives near Orlando is going to go. I wonder if I can find some way to convince him to be my con buddy.
Of course, there's no way I can earn the money for a plane ticket by August...
But maybe by then someone will have a car, and we can go on an epic road trip of total epicness or something I dunno.

A road trip--what a brilliant idea!
Yeah, I have to get a job. to have any hope of raising the money. I don't know if we're (me and ST) going to go in a hotel or with family of hers, but I'd rather choose the hotel ASAP, because it can always be canceled.

True, true. I hope you get to go. You will come back with storieeeeessss.
I'll bet you'll meet at least one person there who's read something of yours.

Aaaaw, do you think so? That would be amazing. I mean, I'm sure you'd meet other Deviants you knew too!
I feel like I've probably walked past at least fourteen people I know online at cons and we just never had any reason to realize it. XD I've thought of having my FFN name printed on a t-shirt. XD You know what would be amazing? A writers' event, less of a panel and more of a meet-and-greet where people from FFN can gather around shared interests within the fandom and exchange names.
I love con stories. Trust me, I'll share them.

A writers' event would be amazing.
Yeah, I doubt anyone would ever actually recognize me either (despite my self-portraits being completely accurate and totally true-to-life), so sometimes it's fun to wonder if and how anyone would ever connect me with my work.
On the other hand, I think I'd rather enjoy the anonymity, to some degree.

You can submit your ideas for fan-run events; and by that it means "set yourself up to give a presentation/discussion/workshop." I'm seriously thinking of doing it---part panel discussion (ST and I are still working on coming up with questions) and part workshop where we'd do short writing exercises. I saw it done at a *cough* Twilight con--just people from FFN running it, no one famous.
The best part? People who run events get free admission.
The worst part? Public speaking.

That does sound like fun. I'd definitely want to jump in and be a part of that.
Oh, now you're making me want to go. Who knows, maybe I'll find a million dollars in the gutter tomorrow.

I'll surely be too wanting-to-talk-to-someone not to put more announcements about it here as things progress. I'm crossing my fingers that certain guests are going to be there. But even if not, it's like thousands of Star Wars fans...weird. (Sorry nighthawk, I was just too ashamed to say that I didn't get it for, like, a while )

The weirdness boggles my brain. I was thinking about it earlier.
But then I realized it would probably be just like this, except on a larger scale and in real life.
...Which still didn't help much.

It would be sortof like this! Which means it would be great. XD I go to cons to buy things a lot. XD and just to sortof sit and breathe in the concept of people around me who probably know what I'm talking about when I...talk. Make Star Wars metaphors. People I can talk to about who their favourite characters are and why. Maybe even laugh at some shipping battles. ^_^

...David Prowse telling Mark Hamill "I sunk your battleship", or Ray Park sitting down for a board game with anyone, would fill my days with ROFLing.
Mr. Hamill doesn't often come to cons though...
