The youth only glanced at Marsha when she spoke into her strange neckpiece, not caring much about -or for- the human's technology.
Ne'shrin placed the woman down on the makeshift bed with the gentle grace that was bred in all Na'vi, sitting behind her and placing her head in his lap, wary of her queue. He didn't know of any stories where a damaged queue could be restored, but he couldn't help but harbour a glimmer of hope that the Uniltirantokx1 had a way to help.
He looked up when he heard the hooves, his ears lying flat, worried that it was a palulukan2 or something equally as dangerous. Then he saw Tanh'ite run up to what emerged as a Direhorse with a rider whom he recognized as Lu'Taw, for he often trained in classes with the slightly younger Na'vi.
He turned toward Marsha and gestured at the injured Na'vi. "From pain she is... sleeping?" He knew it wasn't the right word, but he knew it would get his point across.

John switched to the avatar info screen and, after examining the information shown, said, "It's slightly higher than usual, but nothing to worry about. A wounded Na'vi? How bad is it?" As he waited for a reply he switched back to the map and zoomed in on Marsha's location, writing down the co-ordinates on a small piece of paper.*

Tanh'ite took the supplies gratefully and bowed her head to Lu'Taw. She eyed the Direhorse carefully as it shifted-she never was able to ride one, and wasn't fully trusting of them.
"Thank you. You don't know how this helps."
She glanced back over her shoulder and frowned, then looked back to the younger Na'vi.
"Please, go back and let the Clan know we have an injured Na'vi from a different tribe here." She smiled slightly again. "Thank you."

Lu’Taw watched Tanh’ite until she disappeared back in the jungle, concerned curiosity burning deep in his chest. A Na’vi from a different tribe? Here? Why? How serious was the injury that he could scent blood?
Before he could question it further, he felt Night Song prance impatiently beneath him. She was eager to get under way again. He quickly turned her back in the direction of Hometree and felt her pick up speed once more. He gave one last glance behind him to see if he could catch sight of Tanh’ite, but he saw nothing but flashes of native plant life.
*** “Very…abstract.” A female voice commented. Norm had to smile at the Na’vi woman skimming through his portable data screen. Tingay was one of the few Na’vi he’d met who seemed to enjoy learning about human customs outside of military purposes. Art seemed to be her favorite subject of study. “Yes, its a bit unusual. That’s Edvard Munch’s The Scream.” Norm replied.
Tingay studied it a moment longer before switching to the next screen, the soft light of the device highlighting the raised white scars on her left cheek. “It is interesting how you humans interpret the world through your artwork. Very unique.” That was another trait Norm found interesting about the warrior, she used the term ‘humans’ rather than Sky People when in his presence. The Na’vi flicked her ears curiously and glanced up at him. “What is this woman smiling at?”
“That is the Mona Lisa and no one really knows. It was subject of speculation back on Earth.” Norm replied after looking at the painting. “And who was the artist?” “A man by the name of Leonardo Da Vinci. He was an Italian.” Tingay glanced up from the screen. “Italian?” Norm tried to think of an analogy that would make sense of the concept of countries to the Na’vi warrior. “Humans come from various clans. Each clan lives in a distinct region and has a diverse set of tribes living within those boundaries. Each tribe has its own distinct name. Leonardo lived in a region known as Italy, so his tribe’s people are known as Italians.” “I see. And the clans, how many did you have back on Earth?” “There were about a hundred and twenty-nine different clans when I left Earth.” Tingay’s ears perked up in surprise but said nothing else about the topic.
“How is Lu’Taw handling his training?” Norm asked when the room remained silent longer than was comfortable. At the mention of the teenager, Tingay’s rich gold eyes softened. “He is doing well. He has more vigor to learn than I’ve seen in a long time.” She paused for a moment; her eyes pained. “But he still holds so much resentment in his heart.” “Is that why you’re not allowing him to advance yet?” Norm asked gently. Tingay sighed handing the screen back to Norm. “Its a reason I’m reluctant to allow him to go to the trials. There is more to a warrior than being able to fight…to kill.”
Before Norm could comment his ears flicked back at the sound of approaching hoof beats. Tingay seemed to have noticed the unusual beat as well. “That must be Lu’Taw.” She said rising. Her tone was concerned. “Odd. It sounds like he is ridding Night Song hard. He knows better than to do that to a direhorse.” Her tail flicked nervously as she stepped out onto one of the outer branches. Lu’Taw burst into to view a few seconds later, braid frayed and covered in caked mud; Night Song panting quick, shallow breathes beneath him.
“Lu’Taw, what’s wrong?” Tingay asked shocked by both their appearances as she leapt down to check for injuries. “Tingay, there is a warrior wounded in the jungle! Tanh’ite sent me back for help.” “Who is it? How bad are they injured?” Norm asked joining Tingay. He saw the younger Na’vi grimace at his appearance but answered, “I don’t know but I smelled blood. Tanh’ite didn’t tell me much other than the warrior wasn’t one of our tribe.” “I’ll go tell Jake.” Lu’Taw gave him directions to where he last saw Tanh’ite and watched the Dreamwalker dash back into Hometree. “Norm. Have him bring warriors. Night is coming on and the local predators will be becoming out to hunt; they’ll be attracted by the scent of blood.” Tingay called to his retreating figure before turning back to Lu’Taw. “Now are you okay?”
“I’m fine.” He glanced down at his mud blotched skin. “I’ll wash up after I walk Night Song out.” He stated as he slid off her hot shoulders. She was going to need a nice rub down after all the work she had done for him today. “Okay. Just remember to come inside before it gets too dark. I’ll have dinner ready by then.” Tingay watched Lu’Taw pause for a moment before reaching into his shoulder sling. There was a curious mix of pride and shyness on his young face as he handed her two kilvan fruit. “They’re a gift…for taking care of me.” He shrugged worried his gift was out of place after the sudden disturbance.
Tingay studied the fruit for a moment, a soft smile playing across her lips before she leaned forward to press a kiss on his brow. “You never have to thank me for that, Lu’Taw. Thank you for the gift.” She pulled back to see Lu’Taw’s pleased, if not slightly blushing face. “Now go cool down Night Song and get cleaned up. I have a feeling tonight holds much in store for our coming guest.”

Marsha took gauze from her pack and began to wrap the wounded queue, the blood dotting her blue hands.
"Sleeping, yes." She glanced up at the teenage Na'vi holding the wounded one in his lap. The comm at her mouth transferred to John as well. "Hopefully, with some medicine she'll wake up. John, can you bring in disinfectant from the trailer? But I'm afraid we humans don't know enough about the Na'vi nerve system to know how much she'll be able to recover use of the queue, if at all. She ought to see a healer back at Hometree."
She listened to the direhorse hoofbeats move off into the jungle, noting how it didn't thunder as much as she expected. Animals--and people--learned how to blend in here, both because of the fierce predators and because of the planet's sense of...belonging. Whatever Eywa really was--Marsha was sure it wasn't a supernatural force--it did exist.
She just wasn't sure where.
She brought her thoughts back to herself, concerned about her body--but the blood pressure rise was normal under stress. No problem.
She wrapped the queue and tied it off, halting the bleeding.

John was stunned. The very idea of one of the Na'vi loosing her queue made John feel sick. He swallowed hard and removed the headset from his mask. The base was not large, just big enough to fit two or three humans, but hardly large enough to fit a Na'vi, or even an avatar, so John had to crawl to the medical supply cabinet on his hands and knees. After rummaging around inside the cabinet, he found the disinfectant and some strips of linen, which he put into a bag that was slung over his shoulder. So eager was he to get out of the cramped trailer John forgot to remove his breathing mask, so when he walked out into the thick foliage of Pandora and raised his fingers to his mouth to whistle his fingers cracked the glass of the mask. Real Pandoran air flooded through the cracks, rendering the mask useless. John took it off and dropped it near the door of the trailer. Raising his hand to his mouth again, he whistled between his fingers, three high, shrill notes. He didn't have to wait long before his direhorse, whom he had affectionately called "Air Born", emerged from the trees. John ran and quickly connected his queue to the direhorse and brought the coordinates that he had written down to mind. Air Born knew exactly where to go. He took off into the forest at a neck-breaking speed. John thought hard about the wounded Na'vi, causing the direhorse to go faster as the urgency of the situation was revealed. It wasn't long before a group of Na'vi, with Marsha in their midst, came into view. The direhorse sped toward them, coming to a halt in front of Marsha. "I got here as quickly as I could," John panted, dismounting from his direhorse's back. *
*(something for you guys to play with later: John was not supposed to leave the base unless given permission by someone of authority (like Norm).)

Ne'shrin sat there silently, absently brushing the hair from the wounded Na'vi's face. It was starting to get dark; things were lighting up in their beautiful way, including the ground they were sitting on. His ears pricked up as he realized they were largely unarmed. Tanh'ite could fight the predators of the night, but the rest were immobile.
His large gold eyes were darting about the forest when he saw it. An atokirina1 floating through the air. He stared at it, enraptured by it's beauty as it floated down from the trees and hovered nearby. He reached out a long arm, palm upward and held it under the spirit. It bounced once then flitted away to land on the wounded woman in his lap, resting there a moment, then finally flying away.
He opened his mouth to say something to Marsha when he heard hooves, his ears and head swivelling to where they were coming from. It was what he overheard Neytiri call uniltiranyu spe'etu -captured Dreamwalker- riding on his Direhorse. Ne'shrin felt a little uneasy with more then one Dreamwalker, but, as he told himself repeatedly, they were safe and careful, not destructive and blood-thirsty like the previous Sky People.

Marsha said, "John, good. I just need the disinfectant, and then we should move her to the Na'vi healers." She busied herself about the wound, looking at the man who had become a friend to her since she arrived on Pandora. She said jokingly, "Norm's not going to like you leaving the trailer without signing it in to someone else. But we can talk to him back in hometree." She completed her ministrations and stood up, then noticed the mystic seed, floating as if held in the young warrior's hand. It floated for a moment, cilia gently waving.
"It's beautiful." Marsha smiled. She looked up at the Na'vi. "Lift her, please--let's go. What's your name? I'm Marsha."

Ti'Nalya dreamed of Eywa.
She thought she saw the atokirina floating behind her eyes, thought she heard voices speaking. But they couldn't be the voices of her people. She was cut off from them, never able to reconnect.
She thrashed, her hair whipping, then she settled again, more asleep than awake, muddled by pain.

"Yeah, probably," John replied, shrugging as he did so. He turned to face Ne'shrin, who was staring fixedly at one atokirina floating above his hand. A wave of nervousness flooded his body. He spent a lot of time with the Omaticaya Clan, but he still felt shy around the Na'vi. He knew that Ne'shrin didn't trust him, few Na'vi did, but he hoped that would change when he became an Ikran Makto*.** "Oel ngati kameie, (I see you)," John said, bowing his head slightly toward the Na'vi. "Ngaru lu fpom srak? (how are you?)"
*Ikran rider.
**Just some side info for anyone who hasn't read my character sheet: John is working to become a member of the Omaticaya clan, and he is nearing the stage where he will find his Ikran. Just keep that in mind, he's not as much a Scientist. (Kinda like Jake)

Tanh'ite rejoined the group and put her hand gently, if hesitantly, on Marsha's shoulder. She still attempted the human language.
"Here..." She gave Marsha the sap reed Lu'Taw had given her. "Help." She smiled.
She stood up straight and backed up a bit, watching the newcomer, John. Another Dreamwalker. She gave him a slight nod of acknowledgment before looking to see the atokirina. Her eyes quietly followed its trail.
A distant noise caught her ear, and she looked through the bio-luminescent jungle, looking for any sign of another creature of Eywa. Nothing. She pulled an arrow into her hand, just in case. She knew she would be the most fit to protect the group, at least until help arrived.

Ne'shrin stood up, slowly lifting the woman. He almost lost his grip when she thrashed about silently, but he managed to retain her and keep her queue untouched.
"Ne'shrin." The youth answered Marsha. "Oel ngati kameie." He nodded to both Marsha and John, answering the latter: "I am fine, but this Na'vi is not." He starting walking towards Hometree when Tanh'ite appeared with sap reed. He dipped his head in her direction, reciting the greeting, adding taronyu1 to the end.
"There was a sign from Eywa." Ne'shrin said quietly. "If we hurry, she may be all right."

[[You managed quite well. ]] Marsha accepted the sap from Tahn'ite graciously. "Thank you very much." She worked as they walked, heading for Hometree. She felt comfortable with the Na'vi around, the graceful blue warrior guarding them, Ne'shrin holding the wounded one carefully. She couldn't help but smile, feeling accepted. Hopefully they would do the same for John; he was much more dedicated to becoming an Ikran rider than she was--her interest was mostly in the thrill of it, and she wasn't sure she would have the time during her studies to really involve herself in all the discipline necessary.

[[You definitely did well!]]
Tanh'ite nodded to Ne'shrin in return and smiled at the compliment of "taronyu." She wanted to say something in return, but didn't know what to say.
Ever since the battle after the destruction of Hometree, she found words didn't matter so much. Not after such a catastrophy. All had lost something that day. She wished, oh how she wished her loss still didn't haunt her, still didn't leave her feeling like an empty shell. The only time she really felt anything was with her ikran and good companion, Tswaya, and during the thrill of the hunt. At least it was something.
Her ear flicked towards their right when she heard a small sound, barely noticeable in the jungle. Her ears were trained for such sounds. She stopped and faced the sound, sniffing the air cautiously. With a scowl, she turned and looked to the others.
"Nantang!*" Her voice was a hiss. She returned to speaking in Na'vi, to get everything across quickly. "I'll stay and fight them off. You hurry."
She detached a knife form her small quiver and tossed it to the only one with their hands free: John.
"Just in case."
She drew back her arrow and watched for the vivid green eyes of the nocturnal predators.

John was so startled by the quick change of atmosphere that he fumbled with the knife that was tossed to him. Nantang. The word, though at first he had to recall it's meaning, brought a feeling of unease to John. The Viperwolf. "I'll help you!" John said to Tanh'ite in Na'vi, his ears flat along his skull and the knife held out in front of him, ready to fight. The sounds of running feet and hyena-like laughter could be heard. He had personally never encountered viperwolves before, but he believed himself ready, after learning so much from JakeSully. But why did he have to run off and leave his bow at the base? He didn't doubt that he would need it now.
(Best I could do under the circumstances... The viperwolf thing kinda took me by suprise!)

Tanh'ite was reluctant to respond. She had never talked to any of the Dreamwalkers other than Jakesully and Norm, and those were rare occasions. It took a lot for her to fully trust another Na'vi, let alone one of the Sky People-even if they were peaceful Dreamwalkers. Half her mind was screaming at her to tell him to stay with the others. The other half, though, said to let him stay. An extra set of hands never hurt in regards to the nantang.* Perhaps this would be the time to start trying to open up again, and trying to be sociable. "Alright. But be careful-they are just as agile in the trees." She looked down the shaft of her arrow, her eye the only part of her body moving. Without flinching, she released the arrow into the air, and it hit its mark. The first viperwolf fell with a whimper. Tanh'ite drew another arrow quickly into hand and fired once more. (thanks! It's a good thing that I translated "nantang" correctly!)
John didn't have time to reply before the viperwolves were upon him. There were so many, many more than he had ever imagined. A pack. It should be called a swarm. John looked over his shoulder, risking a second to make sure that the others had begun to retreat. He was glad to see that they had, but just then John felt something slam into his chest. He wrestled with it as he did a backward somersault, landing the struggling viperwolf under him. He stabbed it in the throat twice, then jumped up to meet the onslaught of carnivorous predators. Two leaped at him and met the cold steel of his knife slashing one's throat and the other's side. He backed away and tried to calculate their numbers. This was a large pack, and they seemed larger than the average viperwolf. In fact strangely so. John didn't have much time to think on it more before more of them tried to bring him down. Acting on instinct, John slashed and stabbed with his knife, killing two, but a third succeeded in locking his jaws upon John's left leg. He went down with a cry, slashing at the viperwolf's head. "Tanh'ite, set oeri kin srung! (Tanh'ite, help me!)" He cried as more viperwolves made their way towards him.

[[haha no prob! and my apologies-i should've had that in there earlier ._.]]
Tanh'ite's second arrow quickly felled another wolf. Her arrows whistled as they pierced the air and sunk into different wolves. She was getting overwhelmed-and running out of arrows.
"Tanh'ite, set oeri kin srung!"
She quickly turned and fired an arrow into the wolf attached to his leg. Its hold slackened, then it went limp. Tanh'ite also was deeply disturbed by the size-she'd never seen them so big, or in such numbers. More alarming was their closeness to Hometree.
Finally out of arrows, Tanh'ite detached her second knife from the side of her quiver and slashed at the vicious creatures, also whacking them with her bow. Her and John slowly fought off the onslaught of nantang* and soon had driven the pack away.
She looked to John and frowned-his leg didn't look good. She jogged over and sat him down on the ground, gently pushing down on his shoulders. With a quick tug, her necklace broke its hold around her neck. She fastened it tightly around his leg as a make-shift tourniquet.
Tanh'ite skimmed her brain, trying to find the right word in the language of the Sky People, and grinned when she thought of it.
"Wait." She motioned her hands to him, palms towards him.
She stood and went around to the wolves, retrieving her arrows and murmuring in Na'vi to return their energy to Eywa. She was still very troubled by these viperwolves.

(Ok, we should probably let some other people post after this one!)
The arrow hit the viperwolf in it's chest, and it fell limp from John's leg. The pain was almost blinding, but John forced himself to ignore it as he helped Tanh'ite fight off the remaining wolves. When they finally fled, John collapsed on the soft ground. His leg throbbed with pain, each throb causing his surroundings to blur. He put pressure on it and bit his lip to stop himself from crying out. Tanh'ite removed her necklace and wrapped it around his leg. "Wait," she said, though through curtains of pain John only barely heard her. She went around gathering her arrows. "Oe fpìl... txum... (I think... poison...)" he gasped, though he didn't know if Tanh'ite could hear him. The viperwolf does not have a venomous bite, though they are known to get infected. But this didn't feel like just any normal bite. It was draining his strength by the second. Soon he began to slip in and out of consciousness.
(I hope that your character has some muscle, anaraskywalker, because you just might have to carry my character soon...)

[[Mph. Yes, please. Now whatever I was going to post yesterday was moot.]]
Ne'shrin hissed slightly through his teeth at the cry of Nantang. He turned to Marsha and spoke in English. "We are almost there. We must run." Without waiting for acknowledgement, the youth took off full tilt, his natural Na'vi grace allowing him to carry the wounded woman without it bothering her.
