Marsha had no desire to argue when Ne'shrin told her to run. She had no weapons, no combat experience (that was left to Jake's jarhead sort...) and, now that she thought about it, a lot of fear. She could hear the creatures moving through the words, hear their hunting cries.
She sprinted after Ne'shrin, feeling clumsy following his long, sure strides but managing to keep up.

Norm feared the worst as he and a handful of warriors rode out from Hometree. Even at a distance the calls and yelps of hunting viperwolves could be heard over the dusk landscape. As they neared the part of the forest Lu’Taw said he’d last seen Tanh'ite, Norm though he could make out two figures racing toward them. When his eyes focused he realized it wasn’t two Na’vi but three. He recognized two of them to be Marsha and Ne'shrin, but the third female must have been the warrior Lu’Taw had been talking about.
By the speed in which the three were traveling, there must still be a threat near by. He still didn’t see Tanh’ite and worried she was making a stand on her own. “Ride ahead and help Tanh’ite with the viperwolves!” Norm ordered four of the warriors. He looked at the one closest to him. “You and I will help these three get back to Hometree.”
The four warriors rode on past the trio while Norm and his companion slowed to pick up the retreating party. It would be a bit tricky keeping the wounded Na’vi safely seated on the direhorse, so Ne’shrin would have to still hold her during the ride back. Norm grimaced at how sour the whole situation was, but they’d arrived before something worst had happened…at least he hoped.

Ti'nalya felt her eyes open as of their own accord, their lids heavy. Select sounds filtered through her ears. A battle? She was still moving, still being carried...away. She tried to make her mouth move around Na'vi words as sticky as sap. "Fight. I must...show my worth..." but her struggles to escape her rescuer's arms were weak.

{{Got it, Sar. Whoever wants to actually get us to Hometree--demarion, I presume--can do that any time I suppose.}}
Norm and his mounted warriors met the fleeing Ne'shrin and Marsha as they headed for hometree. He greeted them and surrounded the young Na'vi. 'We'll guide you back," he said, glancing back toward the fight with wide eyes. "Other Omaticaya will deal with the viperwolves...let's get you to a healer."
He heard the wounded Na'vi clench her teeth and speak, but was not close enough to lean down and offer any of his own condolences. Maybe she would be well enough to function soon, but...not now.
"Is she going to be okay?" Norm pulled his direhorse up beside Marsha and extended a hand to her. She hooked her foot into the natural 'stirrup' at the animal's side and got on, without much grace but at least without falling off. Carefully she avoided Norm's avatar's neutral link looping around the creature's and his own shoulders.
Marsha said, "She will be; just needs some rest."
"Good."
The party continued toward Hometree.

Everything was going dim. Images blurred together. All was a green blur, then John lost conciousness.
(Ok, I'm unconscious now... hurry up rescuers!!)

[[ON MY WAY *salutes*]]
With help and only a little difficulty, Ne'shrin got on the direhorse's back, making sure to balance himself before connecting his queue. The wounded woman was mumbling feverishly and he hoped she didn't flail while he was riding.
He had a long arm around her and the other made tsaheylu with the direhorse, conveying a sense of urgency to it, telling it to ride to Hometree.
The youth held on to the wounded Na'vi with both arms, relying on the rest of his body for balance. It wasn't difficult, and in a few minutes they were riding into Hometree, eager Omatikaya waiting for them, including the olo’eyktan and tsáhìk; Jakesully and Neytiri. He stayed on his mount, not wanting to attempt to get off without risking the further damage of the woman.

Tanh'ite grunted while retrieving her last arrow. She would rather have faced a palulukan* than these strange wolves. She hurried back to John's side as he fell unconscious. She shook him gently.
He didn't respond-he was deeply unconscious. She wasn't sure when the other Na'vi would arrive. One arm wrapped around his shoulders, and the other lifted him up from his legs. She let out a cry, struggling to hold him up. Panting, she focused all her energy on holding John up and keeping him safe.
Her energy was draining fast. She prayed to Eywa to bring the others quickly, to bring John to safety.

Marsha called out to Jake as the group entered the encampment. "There are still some Na'vi out there, under attack by viperwolves. John is with them."
"Norm," Jake said without hesitation, "take what members of your group you can back to help 'em and pick 'em up." Some of the direhorses wheeled, baring their warriors back toward the battle.
Marsha slid off of Norm's direhorse and quickly moved to Ne'shrin's side. She reached out for him to slid the wounded Na'vi down to her. "Careful." Jake joined her, supporting the woman's shoulders.

Ne'shrin eased the woman into Jakesully and Marsha's waiting arms. When they had her, he dismounted and noticed Neytiri was helping them out as well; she was issuing commands where to take the injured Na'vi.
"Oel ngati kameie." Ne'shrin said respectively to the clan's leaders. Neytiri touched her hand to her forehead in response.
"Come," she said to the youth in Na'vi, "everyone is needed to help her." She turned to continue her instructing, leading them up a spiralling slope to a large room used for healing. Salves and bandages ready to use lined the floor and hung on the one wall; the rest was open to the tree.
Ne'shrin couldn't help but wish he had already been a clan member. An ikran would have been handy to fly ahead faster, let them know sooner they had an injured. He shook his head slightly. Maybe he'd make an actual effort the next time he went to train.
Soon, though, it was apparent he couldn't be much help, as he wasn't a healer. He started his way back to the main floor.

Lu'Taw had rinsed both himself and Night Song in the nearby stream until their blue skin shown clean once more. The mare was now contently lapping up a meal from the bank's nectar filled flowers, seemingly unfazed by the day's long runs. Pulling his hair back into a new braid, Lu'Taw's ears swerved at the sound of thundering hooves. Norm must be coming back with the wounded warrior!
Giving his direhorse a quick pat on the neck, Lu'Taw bolted up the path in time to see Ne'shrin handing the stranger to Jakesully and another Dream Walker by the name of Marsha. The normal suspicion and resentment didn't surface over his curiosity. What was wrong with this warrior? How did she get hurt? Why was she in their forest?
Lu'Taw walked around the back of the gathered crowd trying to get a good view, but wasn't able to see much. They were going to help heal their strange guest, those at least who were part of the Clan. A little dejected he watched the others move on to help Neytiri in the mending process. Tingay had gone with them so, it would be a while until he had someone to talk to.
It was only then he noticed he didn't see Norm or Tanh'ite among the group. That was odd. Tanh'ite at least, should have been going to help Neytiri. So where was she? Tail flicking as he puzzled over whom he could ask, he wondered if Ne'shrin might know. Losing the battle with his curiosity, Lu'Taw made his way over to the slightly older Na'vi.
Tingay had made him promise not to get into any more fights with the other Na'vi warriors in training, no matter what their words might be against him. Keeping that promise in mind, Lu'Taw braced himself in case Ne'shrin made a snide comment about him trying to became a warrior before coming of age. The last thing he wanted after going through the trouble of getting Tingay her gifts, was to make her upset by taking a swing at another student.
"Ne'shrin," He started a little unsure of himself. "What exactly happened out there? Where is Tanh'ite?" And Norm, he finished to himself.

"Lay back, close your eyes, and let your mind go blank," Dr. Augustine said as she prepared John for his first link time. "When you're linked, do everything that the others tell you." John nodded as Augustine closed the link bed's lid over him. It vibrated as it started up, and John felt a sensation much like flying as his consciousness was transported over to the avatar body in the other room. He slowly opened his eyes; everything seemed so much clearer! The doctors near him began to check his muscle response as he looked around the room and smiled. "Ok, John, now sit up slowly," one of the doctors said, and John quickly complied. Then suddenly there was a wailing siren and a flashing red light. John heard Dr. Augustine shout "Cut the link" and then there came a blinding pain to the back of his skull. Suddenly, he was back in the link bed, the lid still closed over him. Then, he was in his avatar body, writhing on the floor in pain. Then back on the link bed, the foam around him was hot and the pain was spreading. Then he was back in the avatar, then there came such tremendous pain that John was oblivious to his surroundings. Then a small explosion from the other room and the pain grew even greater. And then it was gone. John sat up in his avatar body. He suddenly felt empty; hollowed out, as if something was missing. He looked up at the window to the lab. It was cracked, and the scientists were looking at him through glass breathing masks. He looked beyond them, and saw his link bed. It was charred and smoking, with his human body sprawled on the floor nearby, covered in blood. John nearly threw up as he realised what had happened. He had died. Or at least, his human body had. He was alive in a body that was not his own.
Then all faded back into mist as John dreamt on.
(Just getting a little bit bored here.... feel like being revived now.. yeah.)

[[Ha ha, be patient. But thanks for posting, I was waiting to reply mua ha. A slave to my own rules xD]]
Ne'shrin left the healing room, after all, he wasn't a clan member and had no part in activities once in Hometree. When he got to the bottom, there were many questioning eyes upon him, and he turned his gaze to the floor and walked off, away from the crowds.
"Ne'shrin."
His ears pricked up when he heard his name called. He turned to see Lu'Taw, a fellow student only slightly younger then himself. "What exactly happened out there? Where is Tanh'ite?" Lu'Taw asked.
"I was in the trees," Ne'shrin started explaining, knowing that Lu'Taw should have some knowledge as to what happened, since he helped out, "when I saw a wounded Na'vi from the Ikran tribe. I went to help her, and luckily there were others in the area. I don't know her story, but I hope I'll be allowed to talk to her." He paused, lost in thought for a moment.
She didn't seem to be attacked by an animal. It was the daytime when he found her, the only thing that would be of worry would be a palulukan, but she would be dead and her wounds suggested otherwise. He thought of the atokirina that had visited and...
Blinking, Ne'shrin realized Lu'Taw was waiting for him to continue. "Tanh'ite stayed behind to fend off nantang. John helped. Norm went with others to get them. I... I hope she's okay." The older Na'vi looked uncharacteristically worried, gold eyes flicking upwards from his companion. "Her queue was damaged."

[If it's okay I'm going to take command of the clan healer so that Ti'nalya can get back in the game.]
Jake and Neytiri accompanied Marsha into the cavernous space where the healer was bent over the unconscious warrior, muttering prayers to Eywa as he also packed her wound when herbs and created a mask of sweet-smelling leaves about her face to bring her peace and dull the pain.
"Will she be allright?" he asked. He was curious about why she came, why she was not with her own tribe.
Marsha and the healer started to speak at the same time, but the human stopped, one idle hand working at unbraiding one of the many strands of her hair. She stood back from the hammock where the foreign warrior rested.
The healer said, in Na'vi "She should stir soon. Then we will see how she has been hurt mentally as well as physically."

Ti'nalya let the smell of the jungle, of plants split open and ripening, fill her nostrils. She breathed heavily, the pain filtering away until it was gone. Then she was, for a moment, happy.
Then she thought about what was going to come next; the explanation.
She opened her eyes and gingerly sat up. The muttering of the strangers around her slowly quieted as all eyes turned to her. She saw a man with an armful of plants, and two people who smelled like Sky People...but one of them was Jakesully. She mentally started as she recognized him as the savior of the Na'vi, her clan as much as any of them, and knew that she was among the Omaticaya.
"I see you," she said. "My name is Ti'nalya, warrior."

Tanh'ite's head was spinning. Holding up a male Na'vi-Dreamwalker, she corrected herself, was not easy. Her mind was still flooded with thoughts of the strange viperwolves. She would have to talk to Jakesully upon returning to Hometree. Whenever that would be.
Her ears flicked forward when she heard the rumble of direhorses approaching. With a sigh and slight smile of relief, she called out loudly. She waked as quickly and carefully as she could towards the sound.
"Over here!"

((Ah...Rion, Lu'taw is only sixteen. He's younger than Ne'shrin. XD ))
"Over here!" Norm heard Tanh'ite's call just before his direhorse came to a quick halt. He's face paled a bit when he caught sight of John's injured leg. "John! What..." He stuttered before quickly rushing to help Tanh'ite get him on his direhorse. "Easy. There we go." He said pulling John onto the animals back. It was going to be an awkward ride back. With John unconscious, Norm would be forced to maintain balance for both of them. He look down at the Tanh'ite, "Thank you looking out for him. All of them in fact."
Before any other comment could be made a shrill cry from the direction Tanh'ite had come, sounded in the darkness. What remained of the viperwolves were vocalizing their displeasure of a ruined hunt. The group needed to get back to Hometree before something else heard the commotion and decided to come their way.
One of the warriors that had come along, helped pull Tanh'ite onto his direhorse and the group made full speed back to Hometree. The eerie cries faded with the distance but that didn't ease Norm's concern of what was happening to his real body back at base. It would have to wait. John was now in need of serious medical attention and fast.
*** "Her queue was damaged." That sentence alone made Lu'Taw's thoughts freeze in pure horror. He tried to imagine what it would be like to never be able to ride with Night Song again. Or forever be denied the ability to fly with an Ikran. How much worse must it be for a Na'vi of the Ikran Clan!
"The nantang did that? Why would they attack during the day? They're night hunters." Lu'Taw thought out loud. Granted it had been getting close to sunset when Tanh'ite had called him to help the group, but it hadn't been nearly dark enough for a pack of nantang to enjoy a hunt. He looked back at the crowd wondering why it had gone silence all of the sudden. Perhaps their guest had woken up. Lu'Taw glanced back to the other student, grateful for the news. "Thanks for letting me know. I appreciate it."
The pounding of hoofs was coming in over a distance so, Tanh'ite and the others should arrive in a few more minutes. And as much as Lu'Taw didn't trust Dreamwakers, he'd rather have Norm around than the Sky People that had caused so much damage. He at least was respectful to the People's lifestyle.

[[OH YEAH. Sheesh, Rion, get a clue. Good grief. *goes to change it* By the way, Na'vi have a very hard time recovering from broken bones, so I dunno if you were planning it being broken, Ryle.]]
Ne'shrin shook his head, dreadlocks bumping against his nose as he did so, "It wasn't nantang. At least, her injuries didn't show such. I didn't check to see how her queue was cut, but the Dreamwalker, Marsha, might be able to share some information when she's done.
"She knew what to do." The youth shifted on his feet, still talking about the Dreamwalker. "When I would have just grabbed the injured and ran to Hometree. Call me a skxawng, but there's something to what they know that we don't."
*** "Oel ngati kameie." Neytiri fixed her soft gaze upon the injured outsider, Ti'nalya. "I am Neytiri tsáhìk, and this is olo’eyktan Jakesully." She placed her hand on her mate's arm. "This Dreamwalker," she motioned to Marsha, "helped to rescue you, as did the youngling..." The woman trailed off as she realized the young male wasn't in the room. "Well," She smiled, "we'll find him. You are in the care of the Omaticaya. How are you feeling?" She knew that most Na'vi recognized Jake, but felt the need to introduce him and the clan out of tradition and formality.

"Thank you," Ti'nalya replied, her voice going stronger even in the few words. "I'm..." tentatively she touched the back of her head, fingertips gingerly feeling for her queue without wanting to touch her hair because why even both when she knew what she would feel? "I feel honored to meet you, tsahik." She will understand a bit, Ti'nalya thought--her clan was hurt by the war too. "I need to call my Ikran, be sure she is all right. My clan fought among themselves after the Sky People attacked..." She was going to say she couldn't go back, but wasn't even sure she wanted to. Could she face her brother now? She didn't want to talk about it. She glanced aside at the Dreamwalker woman, her face twisting into a scowl even though she didn't want to disturb the interaction even more by showing how much she begrudged the woman's presence.

Tanh'ite held on as the group of direhorses raced back to Hometree. Her mind was still reeling from the ferocity of the viperwolf attack. She'd never seen anything like it before. Closing her eyes, she decided she would talk to Jakesully about it as soon as she could. Something needed to be done.
Tanh'ite jumped down swiftly when they reached Hometree (after what seemed like ages). She helped one of the warriors carry John up to the healers. When walking past Norm, she smiled to him, and spoke a phrase-that she was getting quite good at-in his native language, English.
"Thank you."
She turned her attention back to helping carry John. Soon, they were in the space of the healer. The healer went straight to work, not asking any questions about the injured Dreamwalker.
[[hope you don't mind-just wanted to get John to healing so he can jump back in]]
