Okay, it isn't hard to see that the six of us (myself, Cy, Morn, Nighthawk, MFB, and Rion) posting once or twice a month isn't helping ESPS grow. Its no ones fault, life is just getting more and more demanding as we take on more RL responsibilities. So...what can we do to bring in a new core of members?
I know Cy has been trying to get people on Deviantart to check out the site and even I've tried with some art. It helped somewhat, but we need to find a stable group of members (preferably about four to six) that can keep the site's threats active and updated.
Any ideas or suggestions? Discussion is open.

Oh yey activeness!
I'm so honored to accept this reward, it's been a great journey that i've had with everyone and I couldn't have had a better time. The success of this has been great and i'd like to first thank everyone who helped put this together, there are also some special people i'd like to thank starting with my fa- OH WAIT! I'm NOT supposed to be giving an acceptance speech? Crud. And here I thought I was being promoted.
IDK is there an affiliate banner? I'm not quite sure how to advertise a site like this one since ESPS is well unique. Quite unique. How do you advertise a random site?

Discussing!
It's the people that make a site and the word-of-mouth that gets the people, so it's sotof a vicious cycle. ESPS has always had its periods of activity and inactivity. We just need to find more people interested in discussing this sort of stuff. However, there are other, more active places for that. (See? Cycle.) The only places I have to advertise to now are FFN, dA, and maybe a Mass Effect forum that's been taking a lot of my time lately.
Banners on Proboards are randomized. We could advertise on facebook.
The current "core group" posting in more than the RP threads would do wonders I think. If there are ongoing conversations, people go back to the site more often and think about it more often. RP takes up too much thought to always generate that kind of idle interest.
</psychology>
Sar, thanks for bringing this up. It was sortof the elephant in the room.

By affiliate banner I mean a little small thing which has a link to ESPS Base and a pic of somesort in it. Err, idk if that makes any sense. But something that can be posted on other rp forums, for example.

I have noticed ESPS no longer comes up in the Google search bar unless I spell out "Epic Sour Pickle Society". It used to come up if I typed in ESPS, so its harder for people to find it by chance. The affiliation banner would be nice but a lot of sites do not want them on their forum because it becomes a "competition" between the banner's site and the host site. The posting on more of the threads will help to a degree, but visitors catch on when there are only three people talking on a thread. We need to find at least four more members who are consistently posting at least twice a week. If we can find a way to put in an on-line ad, how would it work? What would we say about the site? What details do we feel the site has to offer to visitors?

Oooh, I see what you mean by an affiliate banner now. I like the idea a lot, just am not sure how to make one myself. At least not one with a working link. The picture part I'm on top of. XD We might be able to find people who want to trade forum links. Sar, where do you think of utilizing an "online add"? We can start a dA campaign again. XD
...D: We don't show up on Google any more? This needs to change. New goal. Google.
I'm not concerned about how many members we get, by the numbers--that sounds too much like business. I just want to hear people talking. I'm glad you two have already posted some in various discussion threads!
Other sites do go for the "randomness" angle. MEI did it first, and in my experience it was very popular when we were in high school. That doesn't mean we can't use it.
We do have a very impressive randomness thread. ^_^
(OhForce I am so glad my site is small enough to keep off true n00bs.)

Cy, if you can take care of the image, I can do the rest :3
Expand your own rping and advertise on any sites your currently rping on. Make a school club! :3 That would be awesome.

Yyyeeeaaah, I'm not currently RPing anywhere else....Sar, maybe we can do a concentrated effort on dA? XD
School club? lol I think I've got enough on my hands with running one of those already. And, college clubs based on a nerd website? It's not really done.

Yeah, that was more of a joke than anything else, but that would still be awesome. Not that anyone would ever join, lol.
Show up on other sites besides google?

I don't mind working on some ESPS stamps and other art. Not sure how much attention it will bring, but I'll give it a try.
As for a club, tried it at my college but people seem to be too busy to want to join a forum. That or they don't feel it has the topics they're looking for.

We should start sending mass emails out, see if we can get some old members back.

That's not a bad idea. Will do.
ESPS has gone through a lot of dry spells and then it comes back, which in fact kind of amazes me. It's people like you guys and Sar Sha who keep it alive, and I'm honored to be part of something that somehow draws attention like that.

Yus, ESPS has certainly had it's dry spells. crap, i'm amazed that it's been 3 years almost since I joined this site, a lot longer since it's been created, and yet it's STILL going strong despite most of us are in school and real busy too.

It's like a hibernating thing....hibernating. Eventually it comes back. XD
Do you have any other social network sites you could advertise on? I've spent a lot of time on Star Wars forums or deviantArt, because, well, because no on IRL (except you, Sar Sha, I see you there!!) talks to me about Star Wars.
